Sweet Heat Sauce

I made a double batch of this today so thought I would post the recipe before putting it away. We can’t keep this in our pantry, it’s fabulous on chicken and ribs. I reverse engineered a commercial sauce that we love in tiny batches until I was happy with the results. We like this one better! It makes approx. 4 cups.

In a saucepan mix together the following:

2 cups Texas Pete hot sauce
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
3 Tbsp. Tomato paste
8 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp. Celery seed
2 tsp. Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp. Salt
Hot pepper flakes to taste

Heat on medium heat until the sugar melts and tomato paste is incorporated.

Pour into sterilized canning jars and process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
