I’m kind of obsessed with making these little notebooks after finally giving them a try as part of the Gal-entine’s Day Swap. It turns out they’re a neat way to test out dies that I haven’t found another reason to make. I imagine I’m going to make these throughout the year, so I thought I’d just make one, on-going, topic for them.
I was feeling like this cover was possibly too plain, but didn’t want to cover it with stuff, so decided to use an embossing fluid pen to color the drop shadows on the letters and add an antique gold embossing powder.
I just really wanted to make these portholes and then I just really wanted to test to see if embossing powder could look like oxidation, so I did these things. Then, I decided they could be used on another little foldy notebook!
I like how the Z appears in the inside cover of the WXY notebook. The golden shadow is a great finishing touch and really helps that part of the design stand out without overwhelming the rest of the design.
The cactus color scheme is so well coordinated. All of the notebooks look great and it seems like they’d be fun to create!
Speaking of creating an ongoing topic, have you done any more of your Abecadarium (ABC-darium?) cards? I love the concept and am always on the lookout for them.
@AudiobookLover The cactus one really started coming together when I picked the background! And I used glaze on the pot to make it sort of like glazed pottery which made them really coordinate at the end. I haven’t made any more of the Abecedarium ATCs, yet! They keep coming to mind, so hopefully in the next couple of month. I have a medium sized wood working project going as well as some sewing projects to focus on first!
