I worked on this when hubby was in chemo. When asked I always say quilting is my therapy cleaner than booze and almost cheaper than Prozac. But I get a quilt at the end.
Hi @Vanbrat. Welcome to Lettuce Craft! I’m sorry to hear your husband had to go through chemo. That’s incredibly rough. But I’m so glad you were able to find crafting therapeutic during that time, and that you’re sharing your work with us.
Beautiful! I love the dimension the buttons at the center of each pinwheel give.
I’m sorry you both are going through this, but so glad you have your “therapy” to help.
it is absolutely lovely, I adore mixing embroidery & quilting as well it gives me bits to bring with me.
Thank you for sharing this with us !
Beautiful. Quilting and any other craft is a wonderfully productive therapy. And you get a gift at the end. Well done.
This is beautiful, and the embroidered panels are very eye catching.
Welcome! What a lovely project you have shared! I love the colorful pinwheel blocks as well as the embroidered pieces. Nice way to combine them into something beautiful. Hope your husband is doing well after chemo. Taking care of yourself through crafting will help him as well.
What a lovely quilt! I’m so glad you found some solace while going through such a difficult thing.
Lovely quilt!
It’s an incredible quilt! Wow!! I can tell a lot of love went into it. It’s gorgeous. ![]()
Really excellent cheerful scrappy energy in this one, & glad to hear that making it helped on the sanity front. ![]()
Way better than a collection of empty medicine bottles! ![]()
Welcome!!! What a great way to get through tough times and a beautiful quilt! You’ll probably find that many of us here share the “craft as therapy” trait.
This is beautiful! It looks like a project that you could easily pick up and put down, too, especially with the detailed embroidery squares. Crafting is such a comfort.
I’ve never quilted, but this definitely makes me want to.
Welcome!
Sorry to hear about your husband’s health challenge. I hope that things are going better for both of you.
Your quilt is lovely! Crafting is great therapy.

I absolutely believe in using crafting as therapy, I’ve done it myself (tho in different circumstances) and it can be so comforting, especially in this case as you get a lovely comforting and warm quilt afterwards!! It’s beautiful and I hope your hubby is doing better now ![]()
Really beautiful & so full of feeling. I love this project.
This is beautiful! I especially like the “puffy” aspects and for some reason the yellow flower in the third row from the “front” of the photo really pops out to me. That’s what my eye went to first. Then the birds in the left corner. I really like the different sizes of patches put together. Amazing work ![]()
That must have been hard. I experienced first hand having my husband very ill in hospital this summer, and while crafting at the hospital was not possible, doing some art/crafting after he came home helped me process things. I agree that crafting can be very good therapy, and we get something nice to enjoy at the end.
Yep!
I hope treatment is successful and things even out soon. That is such a lovely quilt. I especially love how joyful it looks when you were creating it under such stress. You must have been looking at the bright side. ![]()
