I follow a lot of people on Instagram who test sewing patterns. It’s how I scope out indy pattern makers I might want to purchase from. One day one of the people I follow posted the Darcy Dress. And I thought well that’s super cute so I waited patiently for the pattern release date.
While waiting patiently I was also scoping out our local thrift shop for fun items that I could use in the All Hallow’s Eve swap. I found a skull and spider tablecloth. I knew it was destined to become the Darcy Dress and so it did.
I paired it with this floppy witch hat I bought because people complained it was too big for their heads in the review. I was hoping that meant it’d fit my giant head. It does. I added some faux flowers and a burgundy ribbon.
That has to be one of the best thrift store finds. I can’t believe that was a tablecloth! The dress looks amazing and I love the pops of burgundy on the buttons.
I’m SOOOO JEALOUS!!! What a cool dress! And you look super cute. The tablecloth find was great. I love your pop of color with the red button and then accessorizing with the top and hat as also red.
Thanks everyone. I was pretty stoked to find it at the thrift shop. I love that place so much, it’s always a delight to poke around it. You never know what you’ll find.
