Togetherness - 3D shadowbox art

When I made my MIL’s Christmas present my man really wanted to keep it. He also looked a bit envious when my dad got his shadowbox. He had no idea I already planned one for his birthday while making the first one.

Here it is and I think it’s my favorite:

Without the lights:

Some in progress pics:

two of my green markers went empty while I was coloring the different layers and I had to buy replacements. Ohuhu refills or single markers are extremely difficult to come by so I went for Copic. They actually behave somewhat differently and the nibs are a bit harder. The colors are great but I don’t like the smell.

Your shadow boxes are amazing. I can see why he was jealous! I’m goad he’ll have one of his own now.

Oh wow! This is so beautiful. I like all of the ones you’ve posted, but this one might be my favorite, too!

Thank you @AntBee and @Mountains_and_Clouds!

Now we need to find a place to hang it. I actually wanted to put it on the console table behind the couch but he’s afraid it might get knocked over.

Beautifully done!

The tree before putting on the leaves is gorgeous! It really gives the finished tree a lot of depth, especially when it is lit up.

Beautiful project that will be a cherished gift for sure!

@MissingWillow, @AIMR, @Bunny1kenobi, @gozer, @Tapestry, @RagingSloth thank you!

It was the perfect gift and the best thing is that he was really surprised. I thought he’d suspected something because he knew I was working with the silhouette machine.

Sounds like you hit all the keys with this one! He was covetous of the others and totally surprised by getting one of his own!

Thank you!

Haha I learned a new word: covetous

I don’t know when I last had to look up an English word. I speak English on a daily basis so it’s really cool to learn something new.

Thank you!

Next time I want to try making a double sided shadow box that can be used as window decoration.

If anyone has an image idea for a scenery with cats please tell me I’d like to make one for my brother and SIL
