Vintage kitchenware cross stitch

Beautiful work! I do think it would make a lovely tote bag!

I finally made the tote bag today:

It has extra long handles (WOF x 5", folded twice) and is lined with unbleached cotton. I love extra long handles on a bag so I can wear it cross body or over a big winter coat.

The modern fabric goes perfectly with it! Good choice! Looks sturdy and ready to do a lot of shopping when you can!

Ditto what AIMR said: that was the perfect fabric to use. I love that you were able to turn the cross stitch into something functional!

Thanks! It took me a while to find the right fabric. I was looking for a print that looked modern and matched the pattern on the kitchenware. I found this one in a local shop that sells mid-century modern fabrics. The owner even delivered it to my house because the mail is so unreliable these days.

The fabric was worth the wait! It sets the panel off beautifully, and because itโ€™s a neutral tone, it doesnโ€™t compete with the vibrancy of the stitch work!

The bag turned out wonderful.
I keep scrolling back up to look at it
