What are you knitting?

What?! We have a knitting-craft along under another name?! This is great! I have been thinking of starting a knit-along as there is a crochet-along.

At the moment Im knitting on a pair of socks, a gift for my brother.
And also a shawl that is on paus. Need to start that one again

@vegibeenovaeartquake - how awesome! I’d love to see pics.

@skrutt - I have also almost started a knit-along multiple times, lol. I wasn’t sure if a knit-along should be more structured than this little “snapshot”-type thread?

Anyone have opinions/thoughts on a separate knit-along thread in Shenanigans?

Ooo! Is that the boomerang shawl? I think I got almost the same yarn!

Yes—I wish I had picked a brighter color with the greys…the other colorway I have is Halloween colors…I wanted to save that yarn for mitts!

I bet it will look nice once you get more into the lighter gradients of both yarns. You’re just in a dark spot of both of them right now!

I was also unaware of this thread! :scream:

Im fine with this thread. I was just looking for a place to post knitting stuff, that isnt in the over-all snap-thread.

I picked my cardigan back up, now that the socks are done. The picture isn’t great, since all the edges are rolling at this point, but you get the idea.

Awesome! And in the new craft space too!

Looking good on the shawl and the cardi! I want to try making a cardi at some point, maybe when the weather gets cooler again.

It was in the 50s today, and rainy. Good cardi weather.

I’m resisting the (very strong) urge to cast on this cute hat, though.

I am going to have to rip back my sweater to the start of the lace at least. I keep forgetting yarn overs right before the center knit. :woman_facepalming: I’m 2 stitches off on the right side…

Thinking I’ll go back to where I split the front and back…there are a few spots I could tighten up. It wouldn’t be an Abbee project if I didn’t have to redo my work at least once.

Oh, no!

Back! Well think of how satisfying it’ll be when you do get to the home stretch

It’s ok. Yes! I know it will be better for the re-work.

Would putting an extra/different stitch marker at the trouble spot help? I often add an extra stitch marker or a different one with a bead or something for spots where I keep forgetting something.

That is a very positive way to look at it!! When I have to redo, I try to tell myself that I knit for the pleasure of knitting as much as the finished object, so I’m just getting MORE knitting fun! (it usually doesn’t convince me though lol)

Hmm…I could try adding another marker…it’s right before the center stitch, which is flanked by 2 markers. Maybe if I add a small purple one it will help remind me…it will basically be two markers next to each other.

Here’s the offending spot:

And, yes. I used to be the type of crafter that did not sit well with my frustration. I always plowed ahead and was never happy with the end result. When I finally decided I was going to rip out stitches (whether it’s sewing, embroidery, or knitting) and take the time to re-do the part that frustrated me, I found that I was ALWAYS happier I did so when it came to the finished product. So worth it.

Very true. I find I’ve gotten slower with many of my projects these days too. I’m much slower with my dressmaking projects especially, I turn my machine speed down, and hand sew a lot more - but then I enjoy wearing the finished item much more.

I’m super slow knitting mr jemimah’s cable cardi - I’m counting stitches and double checking every row! - because I dread having to unpick the cables. I had to go back a couple of rows already, it wasn’t fun.

Your knitted fabric is looking really lovely in that pic, it’s going to be gorgeous when it’s done!

It’s lovely, @Abbeeroad!

I followed the dopamine and cast on the Musselburgh hat in yarn left over from DS2’s sweater. I have almost four balls of this stuff, chasing dye lots that weren’t too different from one another. So, the cast on is fiddly, but this is an easy knit.
