That is gorgeous!!
I just finished my purple stash-busting destress project. It’s about 26”x30 and used every last bit of the 2.25-ish balls of Vanna’s choice I had in this color. It should be a good lap blanket for someone seated, perhaps in a wheelchair. Just a little something to take away a chill and not get caught in any wheels or mechanisms.
I managed to do both August challenges and used the color of the month! I’ve never been so “on it” for this -along before. Thanks for the inspiration!
For my August purple de-stash, more knit hats:
7 hats in total made using 362 grams (905 yards) of yarns from stash. Yay! I’m ready to start on September.
September
Color: Pink
Pattern: Checkerboard
For: Learning
Challenge 1: Craft something with the most recent addition to your stash
Challenge 2: Have a crafty date with a friend (in person or virtually)
Ooh, I think I will be able to accomplish all the prompts and challenges for September. This will be a first for me .
September challenge 2
I sewed with friends tonight! Nearly finished a dress for winter, hope to finish it tomorrow.
Yay! September challenge 2 accomplished. Knitting with my best friend that I’ve known for 44 yrs. I’m working on the pink prompt for the month.
Sometimes we talk crafting stuff, sometimes other topics. But there is almost always some snacks and a little wine involved. Now that her children are grown we get to hang out more often than we used to.
It’s always so satisfying to finish a spool!
Sadly, I have some empty spools saved, because….I might just need them…sometime.
They’re great for gelli printing!
I do not need empty spools, I do not need empty spools…
I throw all my empty spools in a bin to count at the end of the year and the temptation to keep them after they’ve been tallied is very strong.
I just finished this which was commissioned by a friend so she paid for the yarn
However…I accidentally overestimated how much yarn I’d need and ended up with this leftover (which my friend kindly said I could keep - she’s not a yarnie at all)
Some of these colors are so far away from ones I normally gravitate towards, but there’s a lot left so maybe it’ll end up as another sweater?..not sure yet.
great cardie! Looks like a lot of patience was needed.
That blue colour is lovely
October
Color: Black
Pattern: Lace
For: Friends
Challenge1: Craft something using a technique or supply that scares you
Challenge 2: Quarterly Check In! What do you want to concentrate on for the last few months of the year?
I’ll report out on my own destash progress for the Third Quarter of 2024.
I sewed around 40 doll dresses, but since most of them were teeny tiny that only amounted to a yard and a half of fabric used up. Plus I bought a quarter yard because I was running out of small-print lawn.
I finished knitting one hat (still needs to be blocked and photographed), which finished up a ball of yarn. Plus I started a crochet project that quickly used up two balls of yarn, but I’ll probably need to buy two more to complete it. Sigh…
I did recently go through my yarn stash and throw out some cheap yarn that was too tangled to deal with. So that’s some extra space created.
I’m pivoting my crafting focus for the rest of the year so hopefully I can make some inroads on my paper stash. That one takes forever to make a noticeable dent in.
Goals:
- Biggest destash I’ve ever managed before end of the school year when we plan to move.
- Knock off the oldest WIPs or give them up.
- Create better storage for what I’ll be keeping.
