2025 DeStash-Along

I really like the combo of the faux fur with the knit!

You’ve given me an idea of what to do with a few leftover skeins I have had in my stash forever!

Cute…just remember that most people wear their scarves over other clothing so there is very little contact against the skin.

Thanks for the compliment. The faux fur has a little grey and white on the tips, so I decided the grey acrylic would help to tone down the kapow factor of all the pink. I guess my step-mother wears her scarves on the skin because she specifically noted that she doesn’t like scratchy stuff when I asked her for some likes/dislikes. :grimacing:

Ok, so this is the round 2 of a hat and scarf for my step-mother. No “scratchy” scarf potential with this one. 240 grams of yarn used. The pinkish mohair in the hat’s brim and ridiculously large pompon I’ve had for more than a minute, although I only used a fraction of it. The scarf is from a pattern that has a shawl and scarf that can be done separately, or put together for a wrap.

@J-squared love the scarf and hat sets you’ve been posting.

I have been playing with some quick and easy fabric baskets from stash. Take a look…

I FINALLY finished this dog cushion cover that I’ve been dreading for a couple of months.

It feels silly to say I was dreading it, but I don’t have a lot of room to sew something this size, and it was a lot of sweat and swearing, and moving the dog out of the way to get this done. It only took me about an hour too but sheesh.

I made it like an envelope pillow case style, since my pup likes to try to dig at her cushions and i figured having the main seam hidden in the back would be best. Now it’ll go on her dog bench seat in the car so she can sit comfortably (still doesn’t travel that well, but we’re doing the best we can).

I used up that patterned canvas fabric that’s been in my stash for a few years, and thrifted some curtain fabric to supplement for the wrap around to overlap in the back. So glad this is off my to-do list.

I have some plans that would fit! Hopefully I’ll get around to it this month.

I used up a bunch of small balls of black yarn to make this cute skull with skull coasters. I first saw these when @Reese52 posted hers and knew that I had to make this! I didn’t use a pattern per se. I found the skull motif on YouTube and then worked around it.

How fun that the trim around the coasters ruffle up and fit inside to look like brains!

Nice! I’m not quite a veteran yet when it comes to crocheting w/o a pattern. Looks great!

I’ve been making my yearly allotment of crocheted catnip balls. I shoot for around 3 dozen for our church craft fair in November. It uses up a lot of little bits and bobs of yarn, but doesn’t really reduce the yarn stash by much. I still have to stuff with catnip and leftover pieces of batting and fleece.

And I used up some beads and old jewelry bits for a swap. Beware of spiders.

They are so amazing!

Finally starting to post my September purple stuff.

Scrubby cloths:

423 grams / 477.1 yards used.

My only purple-ish hat completed for September challenge:

70 grams / 154 yards used. It wasn’t much yarn, but it finished up both this burgundy and blue stash bits.

I still need to post the washcloths that I knitted, but they are waiting to be ironed before a photo can happen. Also, I’m close to using up all the scrubby and washcloth yarn that my MIL gave to me, freeing up a storage bin for other yarn that has been sitting out. These were two of my goals for the year.

And…the purple washcloths. Getting so pleased that I’m using up this part of my stash. Cotton and cotton blends are not my favorite with which to work.

11 completed. 340 grams / 598.9 yards of yarn used.

I swear I have been crafting, just not a lot of proper projects. They’re more along the lines of mismatched doll dresses.

Definitely been adding to stash, though. Oops! The stack of scrapbook paper has grown considerably these past six months.

An entirely stash book. The textblock is paper from the creative-reuse store I found last year, endpaper material was bought in 2023, the spine is a scrap of bookcloth from a previous project, and the boards are covered with scrapbook paper I’ve had since about 2007.

That’s awesome! It’s a lovely book and the feeling of using stuff you’ve had around is so validating! Plus, now your stash can breathe a little. Wins!

Beautiful papers! How many books have you done so far in 2025?

ummm… 35?
7 of those were duplicates though.
