One of my Christmas presents to myself was a 1yr Skillshare subscription (it was half off at the time). I told myself that I HAVE to do at least 26 classes during the year to justify that. Which isn’t a problem because I’ve saved over 100 classes, so it’s a matter of actually doing the classes not just saving them. I’ve completed 4 so far, so on track for my goal.

How do you actually use a junk journal? Is it for art? Do you stick pages on top of the pages? Or are they just for making a book for the sake of a book?
10 days update and all I’ve made is this wee tiny quilt. It took me 10 minutes and I posted it right before the Project Quilting deadline. Challenge… Birthstone… project… applique check, three layers, check, finished, check (YES a zig zag binding is a real binding)…birthstone inspiration, check. Yep. Challenge met.
It varies from person to person. I use mine for a little bit of everything: gluebooking/collaging, junk-keeping, quote-taking/commonplace-ing, occasional memory keeping, art journaling. My WIPGO card currently lives in this one; my previous one held my temperature tracker for last year. I call it a whatever journal because it’s for whatever I feel like doing in it.

I have so many odd pieces of paper with notes, drawings, ideas, etc. It would be nice to have a place for them all…thanks…you are such an inspiration with all the collages and uses of everyday stuff!
A while back @Edel sent me a fantastic handmade journal with random awesome papers and collage and pockets and things, and I use it as my kind-of-junk-journal too (except it’s all treasure, not junk to me!) From time to time I get out the glue stick and washi tape, and I add my little drawings, loose bits of paper with quotes, stickers, little ideas, pretty ephemera etc. Including a few of the various bookmarks, pockets, inchies and bits I’ve received in swaps. Over time, it’s turning into a fun treasure trove (and full of Lettuce-y goodness).
I kind of want to have two or three on the go for different colour schemes/styles, but without being too fussy about that. My current one has a great vintage/eclectic/artsy vibe. I might also make a pretty, slightly more girly, botanical-ish one sometime, maybe.
I agree, @megwell, your collage art, cards, and journals are fabulous, and an inspiration!! A whatever journal is a great name for it, very freeing

I am definitely averaging over one thing a day, but super-behind on LC posting and list-keeping and taking pics! I’ve been working on some drypoint etchings for an exhibition coming up, and I’ve got lots of other things on the go. I will post pics soon!
I have 24 colors left to swatch before I’m completely done. Until I order more colors…because I have room for 17 more colors in my current tins and surely that means I need 17 more colors. If I do give in to temptation, I have 10 more Daniel Smith mini pans picked out, 2 Midnight Rose Studio colors, and a set of 5 mini pans of the Schmincke Horadam Tundra set.
But even I have to admit, my watercolor collection is getting a bit ridiculous.
I’m so boring…. I’m still working on the same hats. I’m on the 4th one, but at least I’m using up stash that I discovered at the beginning of the month.
2/24-25: More good tidying/journal sticking and plonking. The highlight is this inside front cover revamp that hides the glue mess I made when inserting the kraftex.
Thanks. I like making hats because I get the quick payoff of completing something. And since I don’t need anything, it something I can easily pass on to someone else.
