The sweater is so cute!
Acton Creative Community on FB, there’s people there who have been weaving forever.
Kidlet is growing!
I am envious of the sweater! I do almost always forget that most sweaters are too hot for me. But, come on, HEARTS?? Yes.
Thank you!
She requested the hearts to represent all that live in this house- herself, her two parents, and her two cats.
April already!
Anyone have Spring Fever? I know I do! I have been cleaning and organizing everything!
I cleared out my kitchen pantries, foyer closet, and hallway closet. We had some work done in the kitchen and baths so everything feels clean and fresh again. My craft room is a mess but I’ll get it cleaned up after tax season.
Now is the time to update your lists and plan for some spring projects! (1 point for list; 2 points for every completion)
Here are mine:
Work on Catalona Flower Shawl
Sew apron dress
Sew scrappy blouse
Finish guest room pillows
Do at least 4 of the free Making Zen classes (starts May!)
My spring fever is not wanting to stay in the house. Everywhere I look is something that needs tidying/replacing/washing/de-furring/etc. It’s never ending and I’m ready to get away.
Here’s my short list:
-“Let’s Go Band!” cross stitch
-cut the necks of 8-10 tee shirts I want to wear
-restore my old geocache
It is very sunny today but only 30 degrees. When it gets warmer, I will want to be outside. I hate the cold.
My Spring List!
- Complete a baby quilt that’s been sitting for years
- Sew an accessible doll dress for a friend
- Bind a multi-book series
I’m back here again.
I tried joining other LC activities this year and neglected this wonderful CAL.
I joined the nerd games because I’ve been looking at each of those for so many years. I really like the idea and I would have loved to collect those pins but I had to realize that it’s just not for me.
I also joined the ongoing ATC swap for the first time and I love it. But I will have to see how long my letters take before I decide to join again.
So in the meantime I’m organizing the Europe summer swap and will try to be more active on this thread.
I also updated my list.
Quarter 2 list: (in no particular order)
- Felted bag
- Nana sewing bag
- The frog
- Baby gifts for upcoming friend-group babies (3)
Here’s my list:
- Shadow box #3
- Northern lights painting
- PJ pants for my man
- gravel bike makeover
- spring or summer dress (depending on when I find the time to start on it)
- dirndl dress
- raised garden bed

Oooh! Do you have a pattern in mind for the dirndl dress? I am slowly getting back into sewing because I can’t seem to find things I like that are well made in stores. Even costly clothes seem to be poorly made.
I have some dirndl dress patterns in burda style magazines from around 10 years ago. One of them has been on my to do list for many years, but the fabric I wanted to use was not available. Now I decided to use the bike fabric I bought with another pattern in mind.
I can snap some pictures of the pattern or different dirndl dress patterns over the weekend if you are interested
I currently have three different dresses cut out. I must resist temptation and sew what I have first. But thanks…and I will be looking at you and others who sew clothes for help and inspiration!
I posted tonight’s dinner.
Ooh spring list…here’s my next couple of projects:
- finish Sorrel sweater (split for sleeves so now it’s endless stockinette for the body atm)
- knit an eye mask from leftover yarn
- sew some reusable dog treat bags (with PUL from Always
) - knit a protest hat
Hmm, I’m not really a crafty plan-aheader, but maybe this will be good for me.
- Finish craft space reset
- Consider whether I’m doing ICAD this year (and whether to prep backgrounds if yes)
- Go through and purge saved packaging
- Break down saved collage frame mat
Progress of my current projects
Northern lights painting
Shadow box
and the dirndl dress I want to see
Spring projects:
-crochet rainbow blanket (wip)
-knit shrug (wip)
-cat couch! (wip)
-quilted grocery bag holders
