I think the tax system in Germany varies a lot from the US system. The deadline here is July, so there’s still some time left. Also, most of the years I get money back. That way it’s not exactly stressful but still tedious.
At the moment I have to review and redo a lot of insurance contracts and that’s stressing me.
Crafting is always my therapy and always helps but it doesn’t help with procrastination.
Since I’ve gotten better about putting all my charitable donation receipts in the same place as they trickle in throughout the year so that I’m not having to contact the charities for replacements…not at all. I’m a bit of a tax nerd, and think of each return as a complex math problem with a lot of moving parts. Being able to settle in with a craft project is a reward for getting the return finished.
I just realized I didn’t post my spring list! So much of what I do is longer-term WIPs, but this is a good reminder to switch it up. I’d like to:
sew a market bag for Father’s Day (backup deadline: my dad’s birthday). The pieces are already cut, so this better get done!
finish crocheting the squares for a blanket I’m trying to make to donate to the Humane Society
actually make the melty-bead kit I bought on a whim at Michaels last summer
bake a decadent dessert for Mother’s Day. Last year I made a triple-chocolate hazelnut pie, so the challenge has been set!

Our tax system is not friendly for donations unless you can itemize deductions. The standard deduction and the additional senior deductions make it very hard to itemize so charitable donations are something you want to do and not get tax breaks for it.
Your list comes complete with some deadlines! That should motivate you a bit, right?
It’s a little bit different here. We only get to claim a percentage of donations as a tax credit, and those percentages are different for the first $200 of donations in a year vs any amounts above that (although they also make the corresponding schedule for it more complicated than it needs to be).
I’m really hoping the Big Calendar Dates will help keep me accountable, haha.

I have hundreds of zendoodles in my Pinterest account. I decided that I would try a few every month so I can delete them. Most are just too complex for me or take more patience than I have. This one was fast, easy and only needed two colors! (notice: they are the same two colors as my little flower drawing… I am certainly avoiding doing that last tax return…
We did our taxes quite a while ago - or rather the accountant did. We don’t currently have a complicated-enough situation to need the accountant, but they did us a solid a couple years ago and earned our continued business. At least we got the benefit of filing electronically that way.
I’ve been stealing moments to work on a WIP from last year; a sort of multi-media decorative silly thing. It’s been fun to pick up again. Hopefully, I’ll get it done today or tomorrow. My sewing machine is half-dead: I can’t do any stitches that do anything but front and back and it’s a circuit board issue on a 20-something-year old machine, so I think I’ll have to replace it. I’m not ready to do that, so the sewing projects on my list are postponed until I can zigzag my raw edges and overlock stitch. I may make myself use bias tape on the seam allowances of a throw pillow cover or two, but I am not doing that kind of thing on all of the listed projects!

Trying to get motivated after the adrenalin rush of tax season! A little calming zendoodling…these are pretty addictive.
Duplicate stitching the heart embellishment for Kidlet’s latest. I still have yarn left over from the sweater so now she wants mittens or leg warmers. I’m trying to sway her to the leggies because it would probably finish up the yarn and just leave some for future mends. We’ll see.
