Done!
Keepers are the box contents plus the fridge pack. The pile is already bagged up and in the recycling.
Ack! Sorry…I got immersed in some online classes and just haven’t had enough time to hang out here!
I just updated my list: I am at 43 projects! Next week starts the free online Making Zen courses, and, if it anything like the other courses, I will be making a whole bunch of things! I love that so many of them are sewing projects.
Anyway, I will give everyone a break for these last two weeks and give a point to everyone who showed up in April. This weekend I will update my spreadsheet so everyone knows where we stand as of the beginning of glorious May!
Have fun, everyone…and keep on crafting!
It has been ages since I have been on here (chronically ill and well, depressed), but I need the motivation to craft, so I knew just where to go! Not necessarily expecting 50 projects, but looking to get anything done.

Welcome back! I love your cabled hat! You could also post it in the Hat Along
Just keep busy to pass time and to distract your mind. One day at a time. Hope you have fun and will post more projects. No pressure…this is your space to show off your projects!
Oh my goodness, welcome back!
Welcome back, and love the hat!
Progress on a few of the spring projects!
Done! Make a t-shirt for TheMisterT’s birthday
Two done + an inclusion for a store bought card: Make at least a couple birthday cards for the Spring Birthday Onslaught.
I picked up a backup machine at an estate sale: Sew at least one throw pillow cover (challenged by sewing machine’s partial death)
I finally gathered all the materials for the prototype, now I just need some time in the shop on a warm-ish day: Get a good start on redoing the outdoor dining chairs
I’ve been in a bit of a craft funk what with all the April challenges the second half pf the month threw at us. (Cat tragedies and my younger sister having a heart attack- luckily she’s doing ok but that was a stressful stretch.)
Now things are balancing out mentally so someone over here needs to get her butt in gear if she wants to have anything productive to crow about. ![]()
Sometimes taking care of your heart is all the productivity you need.
Today I went to a bookstore that had a massive magazine section. I found a dirndl dress pattern magazine. Of course I had to buy it.
Here’s the overview page:
Now I want to buy loads of fabric and get sewing. There is a dirndl dress on my to do list this spring but I already have what I need. Including the pattern.
I finished and placed my geocache. It is published and now people can find it!
Titled “Pinkie Promise”
Cache and stuff
In situ
Oh, I forgot. I carved a stamp for it since it is a letterbox hybrid.
I geocache friend requested you! I love finding caches that have had some heart andnsoul invested in them. Do you go out year-round? It’s almost kayak season here and time to get a never-been-found water-access only cache my friend hid a few years ago…
Happy Saturday! Work has kept me away but I loved catching up and seeing all the fun stuff you’ve all been up to!
I finished the tea towel kit project on the Leclerc 2-shaft I had picked up on Marketplace and little while ago. It didn’t take long to realize I had definitely NOT dressed the loom properly, leading to some very poor tension, plenty of snapped and then dropped yarn, and an overwhelming amount of grief (especially after towel #1)!
The towels have been washed, and the blooming has helped fill some of the spaces, but as you can see, I’m very much in the learning phase and these did not made their way to the “gift pile” as I had delusionally hoped they could before starting.
Weaving seems so unforgiving and I thought about quitting. But then I spotted a floor loom on Marketplace with three reeds and tons of supplies and brought it home! Resistance was futile so I guess I’ll just have to keep practicing! ![]()
I registered for Jane Stafford’s School of Weaving though and am already learning so much! For fun, I decided to re-start the tea towel project to use more of the kit’s red, orange and peach and to also hopefully see some drastic improvement. There wasn’t enough 8/4 in natural, so I doubled on some 8/2 from the supplies offered with the floor loom.
In beaming my warp, I’ve already snapped two threads!
(Why I need those little old ladies for support at the local weavers guild).
They are still functional and to be honest, I truly love the handmade with love look, faults and all!
So glad you are learning and with each towel, you will get more confidence and skilled. In the meantime, you can enjoy using your towels!
Okay great! I saw the friend request before looking on here and I was like, “Who is this?” but the handle sounded so familiar…
Nice, ty!
I mostly cache during three of the four seasons.
Summer is very uncomfortable for me temperature-wise so it has to be a pre-planned early morning where I’ll be back by 9a at the latest. I do not perform maintenance on my caches much in the summertime for the same reason. I just get overheated and crabby very easily. It’s not enjoyable. If I go up into the mountains on a day trip in the summertime, then I’ll have a pleasant time.
I no longer cache at night, so that possibility is out.
It’s just easier in winter without getting caught in thistles or having to worry about rattlers and wasps. If I were in the Midwest, it would be ticks, mosquitos, and poison ivy. We don’t have a lot of that here.
Wks. 17 & 18: How do you decide what your next project is going to be? Is it a special event coming up? Is it something you need for your home? Is it something you saw online? Is it to use up stash? Is it just because?
If you are inspired by something you see online, made by someone here, give them a shout out.
Mostly I work on whatever gift is due to be given next with maybe a short face cloth type project in between if necessary for a “quick win” feeling if everything has been a long duration project. Try to keep it from becoming a slog, you know.
I craft more and more based on what I feel like working on (i.e. the vibes). Sometimes it can be motivated by wanting to use up stash, though I’m trying to be better about buying specific supplies for specific projects. A lot of times new things land on my list because I find there’s something I want to make to address a particular annoyance in my life (the latest have been an eye mask because it’s getting too bright in the morning to sleep in, and a patchwork table cover for work because it makes my arms too cold on most days to rest against it lol).
I’m very inspired by all the quilting getting done by @sloth003 @MistressJennie and the Quiltalong board, so I’ve been itching to do more of that, but am often hindered by my lack of motivation to drag out the ironing board, etc to get it all done.
