I haven’t crafted at all this week becauee I’ve been putting in really long work hours. I think that lack of art time is contributing to my current down mood. Hopefully tomorrow is a return to normal for my job and a chance for me to craft again.
I haven’t had a chance to check my cards, but I need to!
I’m away until the end of the week, otherwise I might have been able to finish my first WIPGO line. But I’m sure all the WIPs will still be waiting for me when I get home
I’m well on track for my fifty projects though, I think I’m getting close to 40 now.
I am just making it under the wire for a first quarter WIPGO. I still need to update my list of everything I’ve done this quarter, but here are the four projects that have earned me a WIPGO.
“Create” bag (I thought I had finished this one awhile ago, until I discovered the rivets I used were not the right size and therefore not properly set, so back into the WIP pile it went, while I did a good amount of research and digging to find a proper alternative.):
@AIMR, I created the word ‘create’ in my embroidery software using an applique font that I had purchased. Because each letter was stitched out individually, I would place the fabric down, embroider the letter, then trim the fabric before moving onto the next letter. I have since learned two things that will make such a task easier in the future.
If I purchase the next tier of embroidery software (I have embrilliance software and it’s nice because they offer different levels of software [ie. basic, mid, and advanced]. You can jump all the way to the advanced, or you can start at the lower end and work your way up) I can use it to ‘weld’ the letters so that there won’t be any breaks between them.
I just upgraded my Silhouette Studio software to the Business version and now I can import embroidery designs as SVGs. So next time, I’ll import the word into Silhouette and cut it before stitching - time saving game changer!
I need to make a post for that bag (along with another one of the same design, but different colorway that I made for my mom). I’m really happy with how it came out. There’s a crafty bicycle embroidered on the other side.
@Edel, I made the bear using a kit that my husband got me from Etsy. The kit included pieces of glass along with the base and other supplies. The shiny pieces in the middle are bits of glass that I think have some sort of foiling to give them a sort of color shifting shiny effect.
Now I need to update my WIPGO card because I have absolutely no idea where I stand

I am also updating my WIPGO and making another…too many WIPS and not enough GO… .
Meanwhile, I am plotting the prizes for our two 1st quarter winners, @megwell and @AudiobookLover …if you think you have a winning card, please let me know by April 9th!
I just saw I did not finish anything for six weeks (until yesterday!). That’s possibly a negative record for me. I did finish lots of other things in that period, that’s just around when I started my craft room renovation project. I will definitely post that as a project when I’m finally done. I think that actually counts as 25 projects or something lol. But still, I’m glad to have my room back, and I’m unpacking half-finished things every day. When my room is finally done, and I hope that’s this week, I’ve promised myself no new house projects until summer. I need to spend proper time in my room first! And all those half-finished projects need to get done asap.
We’ve been back in this house for two years now, and I know why my craft room had a low priority. We had little (mental and financial) resources to finish all the projects, and I know I had the resilience to cope with mess and boxes and choas in my room (which is also my wfh space) for two years, which is why we prioritized Mr Imma’s and our shared spaces. But I think I’ve deserved some me-time now!
I finally finished a project on my WIPGO board, W1. I don’t know that I will ever be getting a full line, but it is at least keeping me motivated to craft. I finished the first book nook I got for Christmas last year. This was a more involved project than I expected! I love how it turned out.
