Those slippers are awesome!!
Or one of those paper Fortune Tellers and a willing volunteer to make choices. But no spending time making it fancy, lol.
Hah, now I want to make the world’s fanciest paper fortune teller
.
3 WIP Challenge - Linda, thank you for posting this so I actually got the motivation to shake things up a bit. I even got my 3 things done early!
-
Finish Halloween costume - I was an “adult scout”. I crocheted a beret, and then made a sash from scraps. Then the fun part was embellishing with a bunch of patches and pins I collected or made over the years. The sash does not fit well at all (too wide, not long enough), but it got the point across. I might remake it again someday so it fits better. The close up on the patches is hidden due to swears that may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

-
Finish knitting raglan sweater for friend.
It’s done, blocked, and she loves it. Now to move onto more exciting knits! -
Finish piecing jean pillow cover.
It’s chaotic, but I love it. Feels like it hardly made a dent in my scrap jean stash.
I love all three projects but your Halloween costume and those patches are epically awesome.
Wow–it must feel good to get things ticked off a list!
I love that you also destashed some fabrics to make your pillow. Was it hard to make the points using denim? The pillow looks great front and back!
Your friend is the lucky recipient of another fun knit sweater. Now what do you have in mind to make?
Your adult scout costume is hilarious! Actually, what a cool way to show off the handmade and curated patches! I have a bunch of neat patches from people here that need a way to be shown off. Probably going to steal this idea even if I never wear it in public!! (I guess I could pretend to be a scout leader of some sort as long as no one looks too closely! ha ha)
Well done..PM me with a favorite online store for a gift card prize!
I’ve got one thing done (socks) now I am “palette cleanse” crocheting to work on something while plotting how to do the other 2.
Yeah, this year has been my slowest year of crafting, though the most sweaters/garments I’ve made at the cause of it.
The points aren’t too bad when making individual blocks. Once those start getting layered together, and then the sides of the pillow sewn together, its…messy. But on the top, it’s not too bad.
I was planning to donate an old store-bought plain black sweater that I never wear any more, but decided to try to cut the sleeves off and reknit them with a fun contrasting yarn. I’m not crazy about how it’s working up though…I’m taking a mental break from that one to look at it with fresh eyes before continuing or frogging.
You could always do a vest with patches too. More wearable and real estate for patches and pins ![]()
I was looking at the unworn socks in my drawer and trying to figure out why I never wear them. They just never fit right…I knit most of them from new patterns with no idea how they would fit. Now that I have more experience, I think it would be worth redoing, but again, I have so much sock yarn that I might just cut my losses and just make new ones with a tried and tested pattern. I just hate seeing yarn projects languish in a drawer…ugh.
You could always ask around to see if anyone in your life would like some gently worn but still good quality handmade socks for the ones you don’t wear too often. Make room for exciting new sock knits ![]()
I’ve never worn them…but, I don’t have to frog them all the way…they are mostly too big, so I would have to start at the heel forward. And mostly just plain knit. I like doing toes, so I am going to test out one pair to see if I lose interest. If I do, your plan is next!
Oh I see! Once I finish an object…unless that yarn is really hard to replace, it’s gone. I’ll either donate the thing or give it to someone I know. Time is too short to frog when you don’t have to lol.
I have tried on my socks while knitting them (temporarily add in more needles to make it possible) and I also have sock blockers that are adjustable to sizes.
I have those as well…doesn’t mean I use them…the length isn’t the problem…I have narrow feet for socks but fat feet for shoes.
Got another finish now that I’m not focused on knitting a whole sweater.
I knit a doggo hood from this pattern, somewhat freeform. I need to redo the stretchy bit around my pup’s face since version 1 is a bit snug (her soul looks like it left her body a bit in the first picture lol). I’m hoping it helps to keep her ears warm when it’s horribly windy/snowy outside, it won’t be an every day thing (and if she decides she doesn’t like it, that’s fine too).
Sometimes I spend all of my crafting time in the kitchen. Here are some of my most recent baked goods:
Halloween style lemon cookies:
Caramel popcorn cookies
Bread
And with that I actually got a WIPGO
Yummy goods!
I often forget about baked goods. I don’t do it often, so it truly is a project for me. I have the ingredients all sitting on the counter to make some pumpkin bread.
Just need to do it!
Congrats on WIPGO!
I still have only done ONE thing off my 3 item list! I can probably finish my pocket shawl over the holiday weekend. I don’t think I will make my 3 item goal by Dec 1!
How is everyone doing?
I also only have one done. I’m hoping to get a little solo-in-the-home time today to at least start one of the other 2. Only 7 days left in the month and one of them a major holiday. Probably I also won’t get there but at least they could be started!
I think I will extend it to at least Dec 15th. That should be motivating without undue pressure!
I forgot my great niece’s 2 year old birthday is in December so I need to finish up a present for her really quickly as well. I am doing a bunting with her name spelled out since it is an unusual name (Emery).
I have plans to work on number three this week; my family Thanksgiving was this past weekend, so I have the holiday free. But I also have a swap claim that needs attention…
