I really like how you made it more of a garden with those black flowers and the butterflies! Very pretty!

Is this one of Alisha Burke’s lessons? I am finishing up the flower one and need another to get through this month…

I LOVE the drippy one!

Yes! Word play. Prompts still coming out. I liked the drippy letters too. I did another one with watercolors but then did the line letters on the other side and the marker seeped through:

I’m still working through Doodle Petite but I think I’ll try the Word Play one next now that I’ve seen some of your pages. Thanks for sharing @Abbeeroad

I forgot I posted some in the paper & mixed media craft along. I’m a bit all over with these pages…

These are very expressive! They have the same “mood” of street graffiti…you seem to be really good at this group of lessons!

Aw, thanks! I guess I do better when there’s zero drawing involved.

I love everyone’s pages and the word art is so cool!! Wow!

I made a couple of postcards out of the last session we did together, and another couple of collage cards. I’m still getting used to the camera on my new phone, I think I need to play with the settings.

It was so fantastic to do an art session with you guys again! :sparkling_heart:

We’re still living out of suitcases, so my art supplies are quite limited. But I’m glad it hasn’t stopped me from trying a few creative things (even though we’ve been quite busy with work, househunting, and lots of moving admin). Our house purchase has progressed, looks like I’ll have a proper address again in October, yay!

They are absolutely beautiful! Love the personal interpretation.

Yay for making time and space for art and YAY for an address soon (hopefully)!

It was so nice to see you! I know this has to be a major time in your life…I hope that art making gives you a bit of relief from the stress and all that is going on!

I love the colors you used…they are restful, which is probably exactly appropriate for your life right now! Take care and we will be looking forward to knowing your new address and seeing you again soon!

Beauties, especially the 2nd one.

I’m amazed and impressed with all of these! For the Paint over, did you use letter stencils? I’m trying to envision that process

Also, I really like the other one you posted, where the marker seeped through

Oh no, lol, no stencil. I just drew the letters block-style with a paint pen then filled in around them with white paint. I think in the video Alisa used pencil first, but I went right in. My letters are far from perfect.

Thank you! I did paint over that side with black and did the white lettering on top, even though that was the better drippy letters of the 2 pages.

Thanks you guys - I’m really looking forward to another art session with you all, I might be in my new place by then  totally worth getting up early for!

Anyone want to art journal this sunday?

October 2 at 2pm Eastern time

Since it’s Fall in the Northern Hemisphere, lets do Fall Leaves

  • Yes, I will be there

Supplies Needed:

  • acrylic paint in fall and neutral colors - probably could use any kind of medium
  • Stamp for background texture. she uses a script stamp. you could use bubble wrap, bottle caps, etc.
  • Black Stamping Ink - if you are using something like bubble wrap or bottle caps, you could use black acrylic paint
  • Stencil - can also cut your own
  • Stabilo All Pencil - could use a pen or graphite pencil. ideally something that will smudge
  • Aquash Brush or paintbrush with water
  • black pen
  • White paint or gel pen

She free-handed her leaves. I will probably refer to some clip art. Maybe even print and trace.

Sample leaf clip art:
sample 1
sample 2
sample 3

I forgot about Hurricane Ian moving up the coast. I’m far enough inland we don’t usually bear the brunt of hurricanes but could get heavy rain which could mean power / internet outages. We will see!
