Basement Redo Part 1

I hope this counts as a craft… because I put a lot of hours and sweat into it lol

Long story short, we fired our contractor and I took over.

I found a great channel called “Home Renovision DIY” on YouTube, and I’ve been watching it for tips on sanding, drywall mudding, painting, etc. The channel guy is from Ottawa, where I used to live, and it’s nice to watch a Canadian channel from my province because usually the products he mentions are available where I live.
Anyway, I sanded all these walls, primed them, and put 2-3 coats of paint on all of them. Lots to do still, but it’s coming along.

Wow! That looks like a lot of work. You have so many angles. You did an amazing job!

Thank you so much

I forgot to mention I also sanded and painted all the ceilings.

It’s a really weird basement because it’s only 7 feet tall, but the venting in some areas (where you see all the angles) makes it less than 6 feet in some places… My poor 6’3" husband has smacked his head on that curved bulkead so many times…

nice job!
I can’t even imagine how many hours that took! I like the paint color, and it goes really well with the floors~

Thank you so much. I love the combination of bright yellow and slightly darker “wood” (it’s laminate though)

I vote it 100% counts! And I applaud you for the dedication to in progress pics! We sold our house and bought a ‘new’ to us house in November and it’s been nothing but renovation projects since.
