Blackbird girl

So cool! I had watched the video before the Zoom session. It is really interesting to see how you used that technique and image as your jumping-off point. No geese in sight; love your take on it.

So many crafts… so little time… but when I see what you are up to in that craftalong I’m tempted to let go of the yarn and dig into papercrafting for a while. I like your adaptation of this.

Simply beautiful. Love the combination of media and texture in this piece. Will definitely have to take a closer look at your website and techniques you offer in your classes.

Thank you! It’s not my class though, it it’s a class we watched together by Toni Burt - do have a look at her website, she makes some beautiful things :cherry_blossom:

I absolutely love it, what a classic piece. Almost gave me a vibe that it is a “limited edition” masterpiece lol… You’re very talented artist.

This is so beautiful, I love your blackbird. I’m trying to get back into creating something, anything and this looks amazing. I just went and watched her class video and it looked liked it would be fun to try. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoy the different mediums coming together on this. Watercolor is a medium I really love and want to know more about. I’ll certainly check out the link you shared, thanks for sharing.

Thanks friends!

@Manders and @SewCrafty, in case you haven’t seen it, there’s lots of great links and art ideas in the Paper, Mixed Media, Art Journaling Craftalong - we’d love more people to join in! (it’s quite a long thread, you don’t have to read through everything, you’re welcome to just jump in)

@jemimah I’ve actually never done a craft along before. I’ll check it out! Is it making stuff in a group setting?

Whoa, that’s a lot of info! Definitely interested in the simple face tutorial. I can’t post threads currently, but the craft along is just posting replies?

Yes that’s right, anyone can join in the craftalong, as much or as little as you like. We have monthly themes as prompts, just for fun. You can post photos of something you made from the prompts, or anything else you made that fits the papercraft, mixed media, or art journal categories.

Sometimes we have a zoom session and try out a youtube tutorial together (if you scroll through some of the thread, you’ll see the sorts of things we’ve done). There’s no pressure with those sessions, the only requirement is that you do some art (you don’t have show everyone what you make unless you want to).

The paper/art journal craftalong is very relaxed, it’s a friendly place to share our art, ideas, and links to resources, and general chat about paper arts. There’s a lot of info in there, you might like to bookmark the thread. I’ve found so much great inspiration and ideas there, I hope you find some things that inspire you too! :smile_cat:

Feel free to message me if there’s anything you want to ask more about.
