Books from recycled materials & new fabric :)

For the Summer Camp Nerd Games Arts & Crafts Club, we received some fabric. We were supposed to create something with it in September, so I decided to do what I usually do with fabric… make books and use it for the covers

First, I made a book of blank pages. The endpapers and fabric for the cover are new, but the base for the cover came from a cereal box, as usual. Oh, actually, the part of the endlapers that looks like a starry sky actually came from a package. I don’t remember what was in the package, but it was too pretty for the recycling bin, lol!!

Then, I created a lined notebook. For the cover for this one, I used a beautiful padded envelope that I could not bring myself to throw away. I believe it was one of @LovelyMiss’ beautiful packages for the Nerd Games pins. Of course, both our address are on one side of this envelope, so I used the fabric to cover that up—and add a touch of whimsy

I will likely add a velcro closure to this one. The remnants of the glue are enough to keep it closed for now, but I know over time, that will wear out.

Thanks for looking!

Now you have me digging out all those lovely bubble packages I get…what a novel idea to use in making notebook covers!

Always love seeing your journals and journals using other materials.

I have to say this was not my idea! I cannot remember who it was, but it was someone else here on Lettuce craft who once made a book from one of these envelopes, and the minute I saw that, I thought, “I want to do that too!” I wish I remembered who it was!

I stole this idea from @megwell. Here’s that post… and look at that.. it was from an envelope that came from you!
