@AIMR Your peeking owls on thanate’s house are so cute. I like the use of the vine. I have one that is similar, but in black. I might steal that idea for a different craft.
@Bunny1kenobi Creepy cool house! How did you make the cave walls around it? They look 3D.
@curiousfae Wow, that house looks like a shrine to fortune-telling! It’s really cool! I like the starburst at the top–is it in paper or wood? Did you make that chonk-a-chonk base?
Glad you like it! I found each element separately so it’s a collage of sorts. I was very leery that they wouldn’t gel with each other but it ended up working.
The crystal ball gave me some issues. In my head adding glitter glue would make it 3dish but it kinda came out bumpy and not smooth. A couple of diamond glue layers later and some silver paint pen and I had to call it good. Not quite what I imagined but you get the picture.
The bases I found at a big box store on sale for like a buck! It had a saying on it that I could easily cover up.

I need to keep my eye out for things that can be covered up…I know they are there, but until I got into this swap, I never imagined them as Chunky Houses!!! Love how you had an idea and made it work!!
The cave walls and antlers are made from air dry clay, which I painted after it dried.

I love the addition of clay to give it dimension. I have not worked with clay much at all, but I see so much potential for its use. Great, and very scary, job!!!
Those are some excellent imagery! I like the addition if the large rose and the use of… is it pop tabs? Or something? That brings it out. What a cool theme!
Thanks guys! The background was a postcard from a Tim Holt set along with the flower. The figure and urn are from one of those collage books (I’m obsessed with all the fun images in them). They were stickers but I mounted them and used puffy adhesive mounts to give it some depth.
