Prompt: August Battle- Summer Sun (also August Arts & Crafts Club) Team: Cabin Stargazers Project Name: Blue Man Group Peg Dolls Project Link:Blue Man Group Clothespin Dolls Brief Description: I have never made peg dolls, and, frankly, I was intimidated by the fantastic version that have already been posted. I knew I needed something simple, and the idea of Blue Man Group finally came to me. One of the men is holding a tube from their Tubes show. It’s a straw wrapped in floss. It fits the Sunny Day prompt because sunny days usually have blue skies!
Prompt: September- Cabin Pride Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: Adrian Army Apparel Project Link: Brief Description: I haven’t stenciled a tee in a while, but I made this for my son for Christmas. Yes, if I don’t start now I’ll regret it. We both love the Powdermage series by Brian McLellan (my peg dolls are characters from the series also). It is made of fabric and features circles, lines, and triangles, which are all geometrical. Project Photo(s):
Prompt: September Camp - Fun & Games Team: Stargazers Project Name: Hello, Frog Project Link:Frog ATC Brief Description: Just a little frog ATC which would fit in perfectly at Nature Camp.
Prompt: August Postcard - Zap 2 Team: Stargazers Project Name: August Postcard Project Link: *-0- Brief Description: I am not sure if my postcard made it or not, but it has had plenty of time. Fingers crossed it did. Here it is. Project Photo(s):
Camp Activity - Infirmary
I had a nice four day weekend. I spent two days cleaning. One day crafting. And one day being as lazy as possible. It was fantastic!
Prompt: September Battle - Follows Directions Team: Cabin Stargazers Project Name: macrame rainbow Project Link: — Brief Description: I am going with Follows Directions for this rainbow because I had to find a tutorial to make this as I’ve never done macrame before. This is my September project for Arts & Crafts Club.
Prompt: September Battle - Winging it Team: Cabin Stargazers Project Name: Macrame Rainbow Ghost Project Link: N/A Brief Description: I did read a tutorial on how to make a macrame ghost, but I wanted to add in the rainbow floss, so I just winged it for that part. Upon viewing this ‘ghost’ through my camera lens though, I feel like it looks more like a Komondor (the dog breed that looks like a mop) than a ghost - whoops, lol. Project Photo(s):
Prompt: Big Time #2 Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: Chipped fruit notecards
**Project Link:** Chipped fruit Brief Description: Each of these probably took 2-3 hours. Nuts! They are also art pieces made of food. Project Photo(s):
Prompt: September Battle- winging it Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: wolf bracelet Project Link: Brief Description: This is my Adventure Club friendship bracelet, which I made for my son. He is getting into jewelry lately and likes very masculine looking stuff. I winged it because I first tried a different chain, which didn’t work. Then I tried a wrapped cord. Disastrously bad. Then I tried a macrame square knot cord. Uhhhh…. Nope. I finally found some chunky chain in my stash! Four times the charm, evidently. Project Photo(s):
Prompt:September - battle -winging it Team:cabin finger painters Project Name:macrame rainbow Project Link: Brief Description:I just started cutting and wrapping this. I didn’t watch any tutorials, and Monkey kept “helping” me. I didn’t think I’d ever get it finished. He even snatched it from my hand and ran off with it at one point. Project Photo(s):
Brief Description: Guys… I totally meant to craft and post a LOT more than I have
I have been homeschooling both of my children (send coffee… or wine… or coffee-wine) and it has been absolutely bonkers. I thought it was still August…
ANYWAY! I chose winging it since LovelyMiss had included string to make these little clothes pin dolls, and instead, I used yarn, cause I do what I want
Prompt: September- Jamboree Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: teeny sofa Project Link:Mini sofa 1:24 scale Brief Description: This will be part of a larger project for my DIL for Christmas. Project Photo(s):
Full disclosure: I’ve had to go a bit over the time limit on my September postcard after Plan A fell apart (quite literally) with about 30 seconds left on the clock .
But I’m trying to stay true to what I see as the spirit of the time limit – just working to have something reasonably sendable, not to go to town on it – and will still claim it as a Zap.
Prompt: September Cabin Pride Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: Arts and Crafts Club rainbow Project Link: N/A Brief Description: This is my September ACC project. I could totally use it to decorate my bunk – maybe after I fix the not-so-hidden stitching (at some undetermined future point). Project Photo(s):
Prompt: Winging It (September Battle) Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: Junk mail journal Project Link: N/A Brief Description: I threw this journal together on a whim. I roughly measured the hole placement for the binding, but otherwise I just folded and/or tore the pages to fit without a real plan. Project Photo(s):
Prompt: August Camp Friends Team: Cabin Finger Painters Project Name: Cabin Flags Project Link: N/A Brief Description: After the Monkey incident, I set about creating some flags to replace the other cabins’ missing ones. Project Photo(s):
Prompt: September Camp - Mess Hall Team: Stargazers Project Name: River Pebbles Watercolor Project Link: N/A Brief Description: a postcard watercolor of river pebbles with lots of drying time between layers.
**Brief Description:** I was totally going to look up proper instructions and try for “follows directions,” but Ashley’s instructions were enough for me to just jump in and make this little rainbow. I did end up getting a little carried away, but I think I like how it turned out!
