Camp Activity - UFO Sighting
I have been thinking nonstop about my quilting project that got derailed by my sewing machine breaking.

Camp Activity - Trip to the Nurse

I spoiled myself with an iced coffee on the way home and then relaxed with a color sorting game instead of making dinner. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Do you have time this weekend to familiarize yourself with your other machine?

Brief Description: It’s probably a stretch to say these were inspired by the cafeteria tray, but I suppose if your camp handed out bag lunches rather than hot food it tracks.

UFO sighting! I have some in-progress mugs and have spent some time this morning figuring out the designs I’m going to carve into them as soon as I get them trimmed, handle-ed, and foot-ed.

UFO Sighting

I have been thinking about the doll I never finish restoring… more than 10 minutes every week at least lol

My UFO sighting… I started a blanket at the end of last season, and I got all of the squares made for it not long after. But I need to sew the blanket together, and I’ve been putting it off. I finally started sewing it together, but after an hour of it, I had to take a break. That was a few days ago. I want to finish before the end of the season, so hopefully it won’t sit unfinished much longer!

ADVENTURE CLUB

PILLOW FORT

It has been a difficult summer for our family, with my husband hospitalized for 3 weeks for a serious lung/pleural space infection and still recovering at home…. And then my asthma deciding now was a great time to have the biggest flare up of my life….

So here’s me in my pillow fort trying to rest so I won’t go into another coughing fit. I’m using our camping blanket that glows in the dark.

Please excuse the onslaught of comments and posts…

I am so tired of being ill and I needed to do something different so I’m catching up on all the posts I missed the last couple months.

You’re all inspiring me to try to make some time to catch up on my own crafting as well.

Thank you all for sharing your creativity with us

@tapestry I love your Cockatoo painting! The dictionary pages give a really neat look to the feathers, especially with the ripped portions. I love the colouring also!

Wow; that squirrell is amazing! Your paintings are always so detailed

Your mushroom portal is beautiful (like all your paintings) and looks magical :sparkles:

The otter cards are too adorable :otter:

Your postcards are lovely! I especially like the doggy one

I had never heard of Battle Sheep before, though my son and I have played a lot of Battleship… must look this up!

Your wooden heart garden is amazing! Love the creativity.

Cool seeing a roadrunner! I’ve only ever seen a real one in Arizona as well! I was so excited to see it as the cartoon kind was the only one I had been familiar with up to that point :joy: Here’s the one I saw in 2019 in San Xavier de Bac Tohono O’odham Nation

If you don’t mind me asking, can you remind what state you’re in now? And is it common to have road runners there?

@storerboughtcreation I love how you created the word “camp” on your embroidered heart!

The sunflower wreath!!! :sunflower: I love this so much and it looks amazing! I love sunflowers and looking at your sunflower wreath gave me a smile on a rough day. Thank you

I wish you a full recovery for your shoulder. That sounds painful

@saintcady beautiful staff!

And those geodes are amazing! I love how they look shiny in the middle!

The chainmaille shirt is so neat! Where did you learn to make this initially? Thank you for sharing the tutorial!

I love the colour on your flower magnets!

The renn fair accessories are amazing! I especially love the moth. And your outfit is too cool!!!

@Bunny1kenobi and @megwell oof that sounds awful :frowning: What kind of camps did y’all go to???

@Bunny1kenobi Your bread ATC is beautiful and is making me hungry :baguette_bread: :face_savoring_food:

Your embroidery heart is lovely as well; I really like the different shades of blue.

Ah, the ocean… how I miss it  I live by Lake Ontario, which is huge and beautiful, but it’s no substitute for the salty air of the sea :ocean: Thank you for sharing the lovely photos.

I love the ATC you made for the “king of your heart” Such a sweet gift.

@Mountains_and_Clouds I like your campfire and moon  :fire: :crescent_moon:

I love those flowers; they look so cool! And the leaves are very unique also. Thank you for sharing them with us

Lovely blanket fort for the kitties

Neat whistles! I love when a cute item also has a practical purpose.

I love the little dinosaur :t_rex:

And your cats are awesome! The background patterns complement each cat really well.

What a cute little chicken!

And that sunset… swoon

Empty bowl fundraisers are so neat! And your bowls are gorgeous.

@gozer good job restoring the cat towers… I wish our cat would scratch his tower… he ignores it and scratches the new couch instead!

Gorgeous bunny and lettering! I love the colours.

I love your “pin flag.” I’ve been thinking about creating something like this for a while, but haven’t had the time. I love how the pins look on the piece of fabric and how it’s a way to remember all the fun times with the games.

Your halloween quilt is gorgeous! Good job finishing the project.

@megwell I love what you did with your heart, and your colours complement the pastels very well!

@QueenHobo I love how you took the wooden heart and truly made it your own. It is beautiful.

@craftADDchick I love your little cow :cow: And gorgeous picture of those flowers! I especially love the one with the bee in it.

@audiobooklover your shirt turned out really cute!

@LovelyMiss Thank you for clarifying that there’s no deadline on reporting; I completed some of the activities but could not report them for obvious reasons, so I appreciate the opportunity to report late. I made the clothespins dolls by the deadline but did not have time to post. Is it OK to post it now?

What gorgeous photos of plants, flowers, and gardens! Thank you for sharing :cherry_blossom: :deciduous_tree: :butterfly:

Your embroidered heart is so cute  It looks like a cookie

Hugs and glad to see you back. I’ve been in Texas (most of it in Dallas) for 27 years now and that was the first roadrunner I’ve seen here. I was so ridiculously excited!

I hope things are getting better.

UFO Sighting! I have been looking at a sweatshirt in progress, which is currently a stack of pieces cut from other sweatshirts. I’d like to wear it to a football game next Friday, so I will attempt to sew it up this weekend!

**Project Name:** Mug tags

**Project Link:** https://forum.lettucecraft.com/t/hand-stamped-watercolor-mug-tags/35792?u=mountains_and_clouds

**Brief Description:** I was going to do something more elaborate for this prompt, but September is already getting away from me, so I thought I’d submit the little tags I make for my mugs! My (very very) small business name is actually based on my username which I think was used first in this community (but waaaay back in the old place)! I just like mountains and clouds and how they interact, so even though it’s a clunky name, I’ve kept it for so long I think I’m stuck with it forever!

Also, I was really hoping to make a s’more (and really hoping to not have a crafting disaster story pop up), but neither ended up happening yet this season, so I am sharing a playlist!

Raiatea Helm: “Pakalana”

James Taylor: “Fire and Rain”

Prompt: Zap Project 3
Team: Running with Scissors
Project Name: Modified “hello” postcard

Brief Description: I added metallic marker to the outside of the lettering as well as to create a border on the postcard. I drew a flower and added some of my own lettering, as well as some stickers.

Team: Running with Scissors
Project Name: Clothespins Dolls
Project Link: Clothespins dolls for camp nerd games
Brief Description: My screen name, LindyBlues, is a reference to swing dancing, which I have been doing since 1999. Swing dancing is an umbrella term for many dances that started out with the Charleston and Lindy Hop in the 1920s, the era of flappers.

I dance vernacular Lindy Hop & Blues, which looks much different than what you would see at a ballroom competition. The type of Lindy & Blues I do comes from Black culture and “street dancing,” specifically from Harlem, in New York. My clothespins doll is a little flapper

@megwell What a creative use for the calendar pages! And it gave me nice memories of some of the parks I was able to visit back in the day

I also love the lore behind your flags and the flags themselves

@QueenHobo I will share a virtual glass of wine with you… go easy on yourself, Mama. I’m homeschooling just my son this year and we have done… diddly squat so far. We have a good excuse with 2 ill parents, but… we better get our arses in gear for this upcoming Monday. He’s my last kiddo still homeschooling; my 2 girls went into the school system in 2024-2025. My son will be going to high school next September, so we better get him prepared… I love your peg doll!

@Mountains_and_Clouds I love the colour on your tags! And I really love what you did with the rainbow. You’ve inspired me to get started on mine today if I can muster the energy.

Thank you @Tapestry… we are on the mend. Things will improve. Dallas is such a lovely place. We visited in 2018 during our RV road trip, and we had so much fun at this huge park. They had outdoor games and board games to borrow, a little outdoor library, and it was all decorated for Christmas. We had fun.

Wow; those river pebbles area amazing! They look real/3D! And the frog! I love it :frog:

@gozer Oh no :frowning: I hope you are able to get your machine fixed and/or get your hands on a different one

oooh, I love the bat on your postcard!

@Bunny1kenobi I love the teeny tiny couch and the little pillows  And the bracelet is awesome; I bet your son will loved it. And I love the cute fruit pun cards.

@storerboughtcreation your rainbow is beautiful :rainbow:

@AudiobookLover I saw a ghost right away, but did see how it could be the dog once I read your description, lol! Either way, I love it.

@bluebird lovely rainbow!
