I have not spent much time in the studio this week. It’s been really hot here and my anxiety has been keyed up. But… I forced myself last night, and managed to get another piece finished. Woot woot. After breakfast with the kiddos I am going to try to chisel out some time to begin the next piece.

I was at JoAnn’s yesterday and was excited to see an endcap of large orange and black ribbon. But then was bummed that that was all that was out. lol

Hey everyone! Weekly check-in - does anyone have a favorite Halloween meal or tradition?
I’m usually rushing home to take care of puppers, before going out for the treeters, so I’m interested to know what I might be missing!
I saw a meme that mentioned this year kids dress up, but stay on their lawns, and adults drive by and throw candy. Like mardi gras!

My favorite tradition is watching all the Halloweentown movies. I also love pumpkin spice everything!

Hocus Pocus is my go-to Halloween movie!
In the past our tradition has been to dress in costume and sit out with our neighbors on their lawn having “mummy fingers” (pigs in a blanket) and “eyeball soup” (basically tomato soup featuring olives), talking and laughing and giving out candy to trick or treaters. No idea what will happen this year.

Halloween is not nearly as big here, I enjoy the truck or treaters and pumpkin carving

At present our main day-of tradition is that my kid goes trick-or-treating with her bestie from down the street.

I would definitely still dress up if I lived near any of the fun people who would dress up with me. Without that, and since I basically have never lived somewhere trick-or-treaters will visit, I usually content myself with watching lots of movies and eating chocolate. I’m a fan of NBC, Repo: The Genetic Opera, Beetlejuice, and Ghostbusters. I might start poking my partner (the one I live with, not swap partner) to see if he can be talked into a covid-friendly drive-in movie date in the fall.

We don’t really celebrate it either here. My friend usually throws a small dress up party with some Halloween-themed food.

We have dinner with friends and their kids then we all go trick or treating together in a neighborhood I lived in almost thirty years ago. Halloween is my favorite holiday. We decorate a little. I’d like to decorate more, but don’t always have the energy these days. However, my kids are getting older and a bit more self sufficient. We shall see how this year goes…

Five projects, finished. I managed to find some sweet Halloween fabric at the craft store and will start into project number six this week. It is too darn hot to do anything right now though. Ugh.

Funny, when the kids & grandkids were small we had a lot of traditions. But, now we’re all old 
. I guess my biggest tradition is Halloween swaps!
I’ve gone a little Halloween bonkers, all my smalls have turned into larges 
. I’ve got 5 done, which I thought was a lot, until I realized I have 8 to go. Must learn to make smalls!
