Doodled Magazine Page Masterboards

I recently took Alisa Burke’s Doodle Petite class along with several others in the Paper & Mixed Media Craftalong 2022. I kept thinking about the doodle techniques’ applications as masterboard elements, so this weekend I took a shot a couple of simple examples. And by simple, I mean I just ripped a couple of pages out of a Travel & Leisure and started doodling.

This was the first – Posca paint pens over some flowers:

And then Sharpies over a water scene:

That is an interesting technique. I like that you start with an image. The flowers one is my favorite.

Thanks, everyone! It’s definitely something I plan to keep playing with.

I like different things about each of them, but I’m really happy with how the flowers show through in that one.
