But you can totally enter it! @Abbeeroad ?

Oh, one of the rules is that it not have its own thread on the site. Having posted it here, I didn’t think they would be eligible anymore.

I didn’t read that anywhere. It says:
“your entry may not be submitted for any other contest in this community.”

“Each member may only submit one entry, which cannot already be posted on its own thread.”

It’s the rule right above. :frowning:

Hey! It can totally be entered! You can’t enter something that has its own post outside the timing of the challenge (as in prior to the start date). I can update that language for clarity. This project both fits within the bookend dates of the challenge AND the criteria of a green “green!”

These are so whimsical! I love that you turned them into colorful ‘indoor acorns.’ I hope you make more and post them, I love everything about these!

My goodness these are wonderful! Cute and sophisticatedly so. Even without reading about the scraps and such, they are really special, but then knowing some of the behind the scenes details… MWAH!

Time to Vote in the Green Holiday “Greens” Challenge!

And this year’s Bake Off!

These are wonderful! I recently saw some that had the acorn caps painted but used the actual acorns. I hadn’t thought about weevils, so I like your version much better!

Thank you! I baked a tray of whole acorns, but it still made me a little uncomfortable, so I did start filing off the tops of the nuts themselves (under where the cap covers) and entirely hollowing out the nut, the painting and fixing a cap back on. Just no weevils for me! It’s a lot of work, though, and I liked these better anyway, so I stopped after about 10. Lol
