Hi @Manders,

Could you tell me a bit more about expectations re: hoop? I’m not a stitcher, and I haven’t made a hoop before except for 1 “try it” stitch project.

Like, would a painting, like @Staar84 said, be acceptable, and if so, how does that work with putting it inside a hoop?

I’m very new to “hooplas” and tried looking up the term but didn’t come up with much; I would appreciate some guidance before I decide if I can commit/make something. Thank you!

@LindyBlues Hoopla is just a term for embroidery hoop.

Here’s a past gallery of hooplas. People either embroidery, cross-stitch or do appliqué or a combination of them.

@geekgirl and @Tapestry has some solid things to say on the subject. I think a painting on an embroidery hoop would be fine as well as long as it’s considered a medium. :blush:

Ive been kind of lurking for a bit now, and finally decided to join and share my own pieces! I was told about lettuce craft by the owner of a sewing store I frequent, although she said she isn’t active anymore :frowning:
