Please excuse the project dump… life has been… busy lately. But it’s a much happier busy than 2025! Though most of the busyness is trying to put our life back together after that awful year. Thank you to everyone who was so kind to us during last year and the beginning of this year. Your kindness absolutely did not go unnoticed.

Project Name: 1960s monochrome blue dress ATC
Project Link: 1960s Dresses ATCs
**Brief Description:**This ATC is not very embellished; I tried as much as I could to keep the dress monochrome, as it was in the reference. I’ve got a lot to learn about shading. This is a 1960s dress, and I used this reference as inspiration for the drawing: 1960s Evening Dresses, Bridesmaids, Mothers Gowns (1964 dress). I wish I could link directly to the dress, but the photos are all on one page and you can’t click on the photo alone, so you’ll need to scroll down to the year. They are in chronological order on the site.
As a vintage dancer myself (hence my screen name—LindyBlues is a reference to Lindy Hop and Blues, dances from the 20s/30s), this website is a treasure trove! I kind of want to learn to sew even more now, so I can make myself some of these
This fulfills my 1960s project #1.

Project Name: 1960s fancy dress ATC
Project Link: 1960s Dresses ATCs
Brief Description: I had a lot of fun looking up 1960s fashion on the internet to find references for inspiration for these drawings. I tried not to use the same website for all the dresses, but this vintage dancer site has so many of them! So this is from the same site as the monochrome dress: 1960s Evening Dresses, Bridesmaids, Mothers Gowns (1966 dress) This fulfills my 1960s project #2.

Project Name: 1960s dress over trousers with hat
Project Link: 1960s Dresses ATCs
Brief Description: The title on this ATC used metallic marker. My very amateur drawing does not do justice to this awesome outfit printed in Elle magazine’s article “Iconic ‘60s Fashion Trends That We Still Love Today.” I would 100% wear this outfit, especially in the fall in Ontario, when it’s getting pretty cold but we might be able to get away without wearing a jacket. It looks so cozy and warm, but also super fashionable at the same time. Usually in the cold weather “looking good” is at the bottom of my priority list. My goal is to stay warm. This outfit would keep me warm and make me look good lol. According to the article, Diahann Carroll sported this outfit in 1960 (so this fulfills my 1960s project #3).
