Damage Control Round-up! March 2025

I remember a time when TheMisterT referred to some unnamed people we know as “living like animals.” When I asked for an explanation, he proclaimed, “They don’t use coasters!” :grimacing: The horror!

If I were the betting kind, I might bet good money that crafters have a higher than average use of coasters, because… look at all the coasters! And trivets!

It seems there’s not a fiber art or needle craft that can’t be used to make safe place to set something.

There are just so, so many great examples on this site, that I could only show a fraction of them here. Did I flip a coin to choose which ones for this Round-up? I actually did. I even decided to leave the mug rugs for another time altogether! If you’re as obsessed with protecting your tables and desks as TheMisterT, I encourage you to use Lettuce Craft’s handy-dandy search function and fall down this delightful rabbit hole yourself. You won’t regret it!

That is a lot of awesome coasters and trivets! The scribble skulls are still my faves but I love the variety and creativity in this thread!

I loved seeing all of the variety…I love making coasters, but we are animals who don’t use them in our house…we have teak furniture that is impervious to water.

I love this Round-up! Glad to know I’m not living like an animal. I have coasters everywhere, made by myself and other LC crafty friends. Seriously, they’re everywhere.

What an amazing assortment of materials used to make coasters, some I never would have thought of.

Who knew there were so many coaster projects on LC? I guess based on my own collection, I should have guessed.

Knitted coasters by @sheepBlue are littered around my house (I tracked down two for a photo):

And these two live on my desk and see daily use (heart by @marionberries and rainbow stripes by @photojenn):

I love all the coasters! Not sure how I missed the geode ones, but those are so cool!

It’s funny, packing up our house for the remodel, I have found so many mug rugs and fabric coasters.

I love all the different coasters! Also, your husband’s comment made me laugh :joy: we don’t use coasters at my house, we’re all too scatterbrained. (I mean I have some…on top of a bookcase bc they look cool and I don’t want to ruin them.)

Haha…we aren’t really a coaster family either. :see_no_evil: Most of those shown here are under candles and such. :upside_down_face:
