Such a nice pattern! The star shapes “move” and the squares ground…beautifully made!
I haven’t forgotten it’s a new quarter, I just haven’t had a chance to update everything or do the raffle for our winner. Tomorrow’s going to be pretty busy, so I’ll get everything updated on the 5th.
@MistressJennie, that quilt is looking beautiful! Also, @gozer, you know we need more info on this special fabric you speak of!
Well, i am making a lap qulit for an LC friend that is know for a specific thing. That’s the hint. The fabric came in, and the square got done last night. I need to finalize placement of the squares, make sure I have enough (I decided to wing it) and sew them together.
My plan was to do that today, but then i found out my front toilet is leaking (after my Roku broke last night and i had to rearrange it with another one to have TV in the living room), so now i am scrubbing the bathroom and cleaning the hallway (CH cat has some potty issues) so i can have a plumber come in. Its turning out to be less that the craft and cuddle cats weekend i was hoping for.
Today is the first day of ‘real’ potty training. We spent all morning with a bare-bummed toddler, locked up in the (admittedly good sized) kitchen. There has been a lot of drying up and mopping clean. Thankfully after an intense morning, the kiddo went right down for her nap, and I was able to iron the backing and pin baste the quilt.
Attention Quilters

We have now entered into the third quarter of the year!
July Prompt:
Multicolored
From red to orange to yellow to green to blue to indigo to violet to all the colors in between. If it consists of at least three colors, it will work for this prompt!
Quarter 3 Challenge
(July 1 - September 30)
Christmas in July (and August and September)!
This challenge is all about holiday crafting! Despite the name of the challenge, all holidays will apply. So, gather your fabric and thread and quilt something for a holiday. Whether it’s a wall hanging, a table runner, a throw quilt, or any other quilted good, so long as it’s holiday themed, it will work for this challenge!
Goal List:
Please share your first quarter goals with us. You can earn an entry into the prize drawing for every goal you share and complete this quarter!
July BOM:

Interwoven Star - nominated by @marionberries. This star block is constructed using either templates or foundation paper piecing.
Woven Star - This star block is constructed via traditional quilt piecing.
Woven Star Made Easy - This is a simplified technique for creating a woven star, but directions are only provided for creating an 8.5" block
That’s exactly correct. If you want, you can also break down the goals even more (ie. “cut fabrics for polaroid lap quilt 1,” “piece together Halloween quilt top”). Then, don’t forget to claim your goals for an entry into the prize drawing ( I your name, submit your goal for my goal list entry.)
Thanks. I updated it.
Do i need to say Small, Medium, or Large? Or do you determine that? It all seems large to me.
snort I bad…
Trust me, I feel you on this!
You don’t need to claim a size for goals, but you do need to if you’re claiming for a challenge or personal finish.
Really, it’s all about how long it takes you. Things take me forever and it is very possible (read: likely) that a quilt that takes @Edel 7 hours to make would take me 22 hours. So what she would enter as a small, I would enter as a large.
I am looking forward to seeing all your progress! Did things end up calming down over the holiday? Were you able to get some work done?
I got so much done! I got the entire top of one of them done. I need to work on the back. I think people have posted just the tops before.
I had some of the focus fabrics cut already.
and because its a quilt…
My sweetest fur baby, Tobi (Tobin Spirit Guide) had to give it a test run.
My thoughts on quilting: As I was making each square I thought, “This is so easy. Quilting is just straight lines.”
Then i started peicing it all together and I realized quilting is evil witchcraft. Why weren’t the pieces matching up? Sorcery. An evil force was messing with me. This is the only explanation.
I still like it and i am happy with the results given my lack of knowledge or a pattern.
Your quilt looks soo good! The way that Kwality monster block (which is such a delightful addition to all the other great fabrics you chose) is canted is like the icing on the cake of an already super fun quilt! It’s my favorite detail.
Gozer, it looks awesome!!!
Your quilt is so cool! I just love the @Kwality570 monster block and am now envisioning an entire Polaroid quilt of them! How did you do the monster block? Did you have it printed?
Spoonflower. She already knows about it because i was so excited about the idea and I wanted to make sure i used a monster she liked, so i asked her for a pic. The funny part is that she sent me a pic of a monster she sent me. Its hung near my TV so i see it everyday. I thought that was hilarious. She sends me amazing art and I, in a way, am sending it back to her!
I exhausted myself doing this much. It was an incredibly productive weekend. Next weekend my family has plans, so it might be a bit before i can finish the back and start quilting, but im tickled with it so far.
Thanks for all the support and encouraging words!
It looks fabulous!! I love how each print looks!
What a fabulous way to get such a personal piece in for Kwality!
I also want to give a shout out to @sloth003 for her help. She gave me some dimensions that i tweaked and advice. She even sent some squares! Thank you so much!
