This year, we’re going back to the basics - ABCs and 123s. The monthly prompts will consist of 2 random letters and a number. You will be prompted to create a quilted item that either makes use of the number somehow (ie. this block is made up of 7 colors, this block is 7" square, this is my 7th time making this pattern, etc.) or features something starting with one of the letters (ie. this mug rug features Pink fabric, this is made with my own Pattern, I’m sending this quilt to my friend in Paris, etc.). Half the fun is coming up with a way for your quilted item to fit the prompt!
By the end of the year, we will have gone through all the letters in the alphabet and numbers 1-10.

Quarter 1 Challenge
(January 1 - March 31)
Roy G. Biv - Quilt the rainbow.
Use at least 5 different colors of the color spectrum in your project. They don’t have to be specifically Roy G. Biv* colors, they can be variations of the colors (ie. pink, peach, teal, etc.).
*Roy G. Biv - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
Quarter 2 Challenge:
(April 1 - June 31)
Celebrate your home!
Take pride in your country, your province, your territory, your state, your city, your house - any place that you consider to be your home. Make a quilted project that celebrates your appreciation for the place you call home.
For US members, now is the perfect time to work on projects to celebrate the United States semiquincentennial (250 of independence). Finishing them by the end of this quarter means they’ll be done just in time for the 4th of July!
Quarter 3 Challenge:
(July 1 - September 30)
Create your own fabric and use it in a project.
For this challenge you don’t have to literally create your own fabric (though you could), it’s more like create the pattern/design on the fabric. Ice dyeing, tie dyeing, cyanotyping, batiking, painting, inking, block printing…any way you choose to alter a preexisting fabric to make it your own will work for this challenge.
