Quilt something for someone else
Does this mean “I’m making something for somebody else” or “somebody handed me their project and asked me to quilt it?” Or are both equally valid?

I had originally intended it as in ‘make something for someone else,’ but the other option will work as well.

I hit 3 bingo prompts with this one. Unconventional fabric (backing), wider than standard (backing again) and quilted for somebody else (swap exchange)
Pic of the backing. It’s some kind of minky I think? A friend had a bag full of large pieces and this was … 48" x 58" I think?

I, EclecticDreamer, have completed one of my quarterly goals: Join a mystery quilt group (and make it).
While not quite what I intended when I made the goal, login issues kept me from joining my guilds mystery quilt sign up, and Cuppa Tea Quilts did a one-day mystery quilt on my bday. I started it late but here it is! (I still have to put the border strips on when I get back home… also I’m not quilting it yet as I’m uncertain if I want to keep it at 22 1/2” X 22 1/2”, or add more and turn it into a proper top. Or maybe a pillowcase? Or…?)

Congrats on completing your goal, your block looks really good! That’s great that everything worked out and you still got to join a mystery group, even if it ended up being different from the one you originally planned. Clearly, you + a mystery group was meant to be

I, AudiobookLover, submit Embroider SSB blocks and stitch together - section 2 for my goal list entry.
The pink ribbon on the right will end up tied into bow beneath the ‘picture frame’ above it - as soon as I can figure out how to tie it in a way that will look nice. I’ve tried a few methods, but nothing has worked to my satisfaction yet.

Now my swap packages for the Europe swap are on their way, my sewing machine is working again and we have a 3 day weekend in my country due to Whit Monday, I hope to get some quilting and planning done! And to get some finished items posted, too.
Somewhere in February when I was supposed to finish the baby quilt for my niece (that I haven’t posted I think) I instead finished a very simple quilt top. The pattern I used is Frolic by Cluck Cluck Sew. I used a charm pack, a mini charm pack and some yardage that I all got on sale, on different occasions, but I think all or most were from the same fabric range. A few weeks ago I was at a craft fair and I fished a big piece from a remnant bin that looked like it was a perfect match. It’s not identical to any of the fabrics I used, but some of the fabrics in the remnant bin were identical. So it’s probably either from the same range or a similar looking range from the same designer (Sweetwater for Moda). I just measured and cut the backing to size tonight and it’s almost perfect, I cut of a 10" x WOF strip to go back in stash. I think I have enough batting too, so I might be able to finish this one pretty quickly. Probably not this weekend though, as we have a four-legged friend staying over who would really like to help. I think I might make the Frolic pattern again in future, but in a totally different colour scheme, it’s very scrap-friendly. It’s entirely made from 2,5" squares and 2,5" x 5" strips.
I finally finished my hexie quilt right before my sewing machine broke and hand bound it. While binding I came to the conclusion it needed more (hand) quilting than it already has. I think the layers aren’t tied together as much as they should be, at least not anymore the second I take the basting threads out. I hand pieced a matching pillowcase ages ago. Now the quilt is done, that pillowcase needs to be sandwiched and quilted as well. The hexie quilt is already on the guest bed in my craft room. Though last time we had guests I took it away 
A friend of Mr Imma stayed there after a night of sweating and drinking so I made up the bed with some easy-to-wash sheets instead. I spent 10 years of my life sewing and quilting it, I’m not going to allow it to stink from beer.
Then there’s the BOM I’m behind on … I have three star blocks now and I hope to have enough fabrics for three more.
