Alrighty folks, kicking off this gallery with an absolutely adorable sculpture I recieved from the talented @Tapestry. Thank you for taking on an international partner!

I’m pleased to introduce you to a magical creature very rarely seen by humans until now, the Tidewaddle:

They are small semi-aquatic goblin creatures most commonly found along tidal flats. They have a crown of barnacle like nodules on top their heads. If you encounter one, know that they are calm, observant and slightly disapproving. Don’t be alarmed if you hear the whuumm peep sounds they make.

The most magical thing about them is they glow softly in shadows. Researchers say in person is the best way to view the glow as it’s challenging to capture the full glow on camera.

Front glow:

Top glow:

The accompanying bestiary page shows the most up to date information on this bioluminescent creature.

Thank you so much Jenn! I’m so honoured to be the recipient of a Tidewaddle! :light_blue_heart: I am in awe of the creativity you poured into this creature.

Here’s the whole swap package:

Oh my gosh, this is amazing!! You have magically conveyed such adorableness and personality, @Tapestry !

(and I’m with @gozer, I’m glad I sent mine just barely before seeing this and now wondering if I’ve done enough…)

Wow! @Tapestry your sculpture is amazing. Holy heck. It’s a whole little storybook character come to life. So cute!

@Tapestry set the bar so high! I absolutely love this little tidewaddle!

Awww, thanks everyone! I had a lot of fun making him and I’m so glad you like him @Panda! Also, you got glow pics! Yay! My phone utterly refused, even with my fancy camera app that’s supposed to mimic a DSLR.

I almost never make duplicate items, but a few other sea goblin species might make an appearance in the Monster Mystery swap!

I love him so much! The glow is so fun in real life and the photos really don’t do it justice. I like that you incorporated it in many parts, not just the belly. Such a cutie!

What about sea globlins for STS? :eyes:

I received today from @photojenn and it’s really fun to see how she interpreted the themes I shared.

@photojenn I know you mentioned using foil for armature. But what’s the material used to build on top?

I really love the color! Such a pretty blue. And the white ditsy pattern is such a great touch!

I think I’m slowly collecting lettuce craft bird items. Hah! I will need a wall cabinet or shelf to display them all.

Thank you for my sweet bird.

I’m so glad you like it! I had so much fun making it and learned a lot!

I used tin foil for the inside armature, DAS air dry clay for the body, Golden fluid acrylics (teal and white) to paint, and Triple Thick for the glaze.

Omgggg I’m so jealous! This is such an amazing little creature! Did you make this up and make the info page as well?? It’s all incredible! Totally sad I didn’t join this swap now. Lol. I love him!

@photojenn - what a cute and cheerful bird! The triplethick really gives it a polished feel and gorgeous shine.

@RagingSloth - thank you! The tidewaddle is just a product of my super weird brain.
