In June I taught a set of classes at a local mansion & park, called Allerton, in honor of the Summer Solstice. They were holding a huge bonfire, and had a food truck and bar. I was told there was going to be a whole day of programming, but somehow those other classes never materialized, so it was just me teaching a class for teens, and one for adults, to make sun catchers and beaded bracelets. I dressed up in one of my favorite sari silk skirts in shakes of black and gold, and decided to make myself something fun to wear with it.
I dug through my stash of Vintaj findings, and came up with pieces that reminded me of the sun, and got to work.
The brass pieces are all from Vintaj, and the beads are Swarovski crystal. I found some gold chain in my stash, along with two leaf branches that I believe were intended to be part of a toggle clasp.
I got lots of compliments on them from my students. All in all, I like how they both came out, but I think I live the earrings best. The suns just really catch the light.
And just for fun, these are the bracelets I taught the adults to make in the adult session of my class. They also made rainbow sun catchers. The teens did just the sun catchers.
