Sweater-Along!

Gotta love that! :upside_down_face:

Swedish patterns tend to be less user friendly that way. A lot of knowledge is assumed.

I’ve got one pocket most of the way done. It’s a bit wonky on the inside, and I have some more seaming to do. I’ve got one more side to close on the inside of the pocket. I’m pretty happy with the parts that will show, but might need to close a tiny gap in the corner of the ”flap”.

I folded up the part that forms the pocket and found the half way point of the edge of the pocket and the middle of the flap. I pinned with a few safety pins before starting to sew. I did like a combo of mattress stitch and kitchener stitch on the back on that flap. I’ll try to take a picture tomorrow. It’s 11 pm and I don’t intend to craft until midnight :joy:

Waiting on next steps for the Carbeth until class tomorrow night, so I picked up my daybreak tee. Finally got this lace figured out. I did have to tink back 2.5 rows. I know what I kept doing wrong before. It’s an easy mistake to make. Let’s hope I don’t make it again. :crossed_fingers:

Exciting!!!

I’m coming close to halfway on the first sleeve. Why does this feel like its taking so much longer than the body? So weird.

My Carbeth is done, done, done! I need a good photo session to really show it off, though. It’s a bit big and heavy but I still love it. :green_heart: I think I would choose a different yarn if (when?) I make it again.

It’s gonna be a “when” right?

Some lace progress today…

Oooh that looks good.

I got to the cuff of sleeve one and then decided to rip back 8 inches and redo. I was going for a straight arm, no decreases but the sleeve circumference was just ridiculous. Here we go again…

You are doing long sleeves? I had it in my head that was a tee pattern. Of course you are the modification queen so it wouldn’t surprise me if that were the case.

Haha, I bought the tshirt version because it had the counts for fingering weight yarn. It’s not too difficult to just keep on stitching for the sleeves, but I was lazy about wanting to figure out how to decrease in pattern (not doing the greatest job of it anyway). But it’s on the underside of the arm so I’m not too fussed about a few wonky stitches.

She’s finally soaking! I might wear it to work tomorrow

Edit: Well…lol. This sweater has grown in blocking more than any other item I’ve ever knitted. It’s quite a bit longer in the body now than I intended. I’m debating ripping back the hem a good 4 - 5 inches, but I’ll wear it tomorrow to see how I feel about it before deciding. So annoying, why can’t these ever come out perfectly the first time? :upside_down_face:

This doesn’t show off the variation of blacks and speckly white, but she’s done! It is a bit bigger than I hoped, but I’m wearing it now, and it’s so comfortable, I think I’m going to leave it. The only fix needed is a crochet edge on the neckline to stop it from stretching so much.

It looks AWESOME!!! I would never know you were wavering over anything about it. :sparkles:

I love the texture you got on that. A crochet edge is a good fix to help with fitting and stretching. I have found I enjoy doing some sort of crochet edge even on things that are fine…just another nice touch.

Turned out great…happy to see the finished sweaters!

On that note, the yarn I needed to finish my crochet cocoon sweater arrived today! I hope I can get it done by the end of the month!

Thanks everyone  and somehow I STILL have more scrap fingering left. Yarn breeds yarn somehow.

Better picture on the color variation. Its harder to see in lower light
