Glad she got them! I sent the second picture with lots of food stickers! ![]()
Thanks for the stickers @AIMR & @thanate! @Pigeon is away right now but will be excite to unpack them!
Are you still looking? I love sending/sharing/collecting/doing all the things with stickers, so I may have some to send your way. Let me know ![]()
She’s got a good collection going now, thank you ![]()
Sorry for the delay in replying, I was away & then she was away! She has more pics for me from @thanate, @irid3sc3nt, @Tapestry & another envelope from @AIMR. Thanks everybody, this has been so fun for her ![]()
Hey, while I am doing spring cleaning I am also looking to destash things.
Anybody need anything that I can be on the look out for as I go through my stuff?
I can’t guarantee that I have it or have extra, but I might!
This is random, but I could use beeswax (don’t need a lot, just making some wraps for food) and I also would like one of those tools for attaching snaps (and snaps, if you have them).
I have them both in my Amazon cart and they aren’t expensive, but I really don’t want to order from Amazon.
If anybody has these things, I would be happy to pay shipping!
Would this be something that local beekeepers have? I don’t know if you could use it straight from a hive. Might be a bit more work, but it also might be free. Cost benefit analysis ![]()
Yes. There are sellers on marketplace, but they only want to sell in bulk and it’s out of my price range at the moment.
Believe it or not…I have beeswax! HA HA
You can use a cheese grater to shave off into pellets to melt onto cotton fabric to make food wraps or bread bags (which is why I have it). I also used it for encaustic painting.
I’ll cut you a chunk!
BTW..that is not mold…it is just wax…like honey, beeswax is sort of antiseptic and lasts forever.
If you wash the wraps or bags in cool water, the wax stays on…just don’t use really hot water on them!
Yay! Yes, that’s exactly what I plan to do! Thank you so much!
Excellent tips!! And yes, I learned from Martha that crystallization is a sign of quality!
A request!
Does anyone have a fabric scrap they would like to donate to my cause? I’m making a quilt and trying to do it stash/repurposed the best I can. And I love the idea of sourcing for my community (online and irl). I think it’ll mean more.
Ideally a rough 10x10ish inches - you don’t have to cut nicely. (they’ll be cut down to 8.5). I’m thinking a square would probably be able to be folded in a greeting card and mailed with one stamp.
In return, I will send you a happy mail thank you note and maybe a goodie. Or I could even mail you a stamp first! OR if you’re looking for certain kinds of supplies, lemme know! I’m (slowly) cleaning out my craft room.
I’m going for vintage-y fabrics. Nothing overtly modern looking. Does not have to be pastel. Looking for light or medium values with small print. Florals are a plus! I don’t really want any picture-type fabric, if that makes sense. Here’s what I have so far:
I’m good with any colors. Could use more white-based fabric probably. I’m not making a rainbow quilt necessarily. (Or at least it wouldn’t be designed as such.) I think I’m going to do this type of design (but not bold/dark).
This is all I have in smaller prints and “vintage”. See any that might work for you? Happy to let them go.
I can look this weekend!
Thank you!!
I love the apples! Gosh, that reminds me of my gran’s decor. That & macrame owls! Lovelovelove
I sent you a message! ![]()
I will definitely send you a square. I’ll look through my fabric this weekend.
Yay! Thank you!!
I definitely have fabric. I’ll send pics later today or tomorrow.
