Use it or lose it! A sharing and caring gift-along

Anybody got some of this slippery string? I ran out and can’t find it in town, which is weird.
I have 4 bags left to string, needing up to 14’ in red, green, &/or white.

Nothing at the moment, thanks! And please do let me know if there are any you’d like, they’re just sitting there and I’d love if someone could get some use out of them.

I was at Filene’s basement once - or is that a distorted memory from the short time I went to school in Boston? Pretty sure I did get there once! lol!! Did go to Durgin-Park more than once and over more years than those in which I was in school.

I believe that is called rattail cord.
I have none. :frowning:

That’s the name of it. So odd the fabric store doesn’t have any.

Michaels would have it. I would think Joann’s would have it too, but I can’t recall ever looking for any. Hope you find what you need!!

We dont have Joanns in Canada anymore and oddly Michaels didn’t have any ribbon at all when I checked. None at the dollar stores either. I really truly can’t find it.

Unfortunately I don’t have any in my stash. Does Michael’s CA website show you what’s in stock at each store? I see rattail cord listed in the jewelry section. I also saw some on Amazon.

Michaels website here is crap, lol. I guess I’ll have to order it online.

I’ll send you this, if you can use it for this project great! If not, tag you’re it no sending backsies! Lol (each color is over 5’ long.)

That is the right stuff but not the right colours for this project. I’ll happily take it off your hands though, it’s the best for bag ties. Thank you!

FYI, I read that part of the statment in my grandmother’s Mass accent.

Where did you go to school in Boston? I went to Northeastern for 2 years. Despite having a 4.0 while double majoring and taking 26 credits per term, I was forced to drop out my sophomore year, due to being short on tuition by $2000. I went to my financial aid councilor’s office for help. She worked 1 day a week, and I got there at 6:00am to get in line. (I was still the second person in line.) Waited 3 hours, only to have her call in sick. A man who used to do that job, but who now worked in a different department stepped in to help for the day. I ended up having a panic attack in his office, and he gave me $1000 to ‘make it stop’. He apparently transfered the $1000 out of a discretionary fund his office had, but that was all he had. He hoped that I’d be able to come up with the other $1000 in 24 hours, so I could stay. I could not. But it’s still a great story. :joy:

My graduation trip before headed to college was a trip to Boston! I was 17 and feeling quite independent and grown up…I remember landing at the airport wearing a camel colored polyester pantsuit and a red neckerchief…high fashion wear back in the 70’s! lol

I got strep throat that night and had such a high fever that the people I was staying with took me to Mass General where I spent the night. The next two days was spent in bed. So, not much of a sightseeing trip before I had to fly to Indiana to start school!

I did manage to get back to Boston a few more times, including the first “C” meet up with Leah and the mod squad crew at the time! Fun times and a way happier memory than my first visit! lol

Garland - which doesn’t exist any more. Had a good art department and being small we lived in old Boston Mansions which was rather kewl!! I wasn’t there very long. Came back to Michigan and went to Wayne State until I dropped out and studied art on my own.

I used to go back every now and then to visit the friends I made, and also a friend from Michigan who was attending MIT. I liked Boston (but not their round abouts, I hate round abouts wherever they appear  )

My sister and her husband lived in Boston when he was studying at Harvard many years ago. I went to visit them, and my sister took me to Filene’s basement. It was a bargain wonderland, although we did not shop for wedding dresses.

Send me a message if you would like any paper napkins (solids, misc. designs, floral), wrinkly/torn colored tissue paper, random scrapbook paper pieces, random book pages (Japanese, French, German, Russian, other foreign… English, sheet music, cook book pages, dictionary pages, random diagram type pages, etc).

Some examples of what I have:

I would like some random book pages! Currently I have an English romance novel and a couple pages in… I’m not sure. It’s Asian characters.
