I finally have most of the materials to work on a hat for my friend’s son and… I forgot how to hold yarn. ![]()
Are you a thrower or a picker? Ever since I learned Continental, I can’t even remember how to knit English. Since I crochet, the motion is the same for me…it’ll come back to you in no time…ha ha.
Same. I get -so- confused when I watch someone knit English ![]()
I learned English from the Stitch n Bitch book. I didn’t have a teacher to tell me which one. Eventually I learned a bit more from asking cranky ladies in yarn stores. Much later I took a class that was going through the Great American Afghan patterns. I was thinking about making a post of some of the winter accessories I have knitted.
Lol, I forgot how to cast on, that’s why it seemed so foreign in my hands. Came right back to me after I ran an errand. Now my problem is that I got the wrong length of circulars! Ugh, circulars aren’t really my jam. My double points will be in tomorrow, I hope I can make do with those.
I also prefer DPNs for hats…nice hat…the yarn looks very cozy!
It turned out lovely! It looks so warm and squishy, and the yarn is really pretty.
Thank you! It’s Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick n Quick, knitted on size 11. It’s the Chunky Beanie by NatHipKnits Designs on Ravelry.
We went to see the Rockettes when they were doing the show at the Opry House (in Nashville, TN) and it was so much fun!
Yes! I saw them in Indianapolis! Great show. I will get there with the girls for sure. They’ll love it.
I did find a more local nutcracker performance and got us tickets for Dec 23! It’s on our countdown calendar. ![]()
I started knitting dishcloths again a few months back, it felt odd until I remembered continental, now I can whip through them.

I wondered what that yarn looked like made up!
I really like it, this is my second from this ball.
Knitting a hat for a baby, and it’s going so darn slow. I set a timer on my phone for 30 minutes, so see if my pains will let me keep that schedule. If I can at least get a row done an hour, I should be able to finish in three days. ![]()
Woot! got two rows done…can barely feel my fingers (well, that and my bicep feels like it’s being ripped out or my arm), but I got two rows done. ![]()
That yarn is very attractive, Charles.
Testing to see if I want to go through the rigamarrow (riggamarrough…rigamaro…Ok! let’s see what a dictionary says,
rigamarole…
Huh! I guess for me, the ‘l’ is silent,
)…Now where was I? Oh yes! I wanted to see if I wanted to go through the trouble of knitting bear ears for the hat…I’d like to, but I first need to finish the hat. ![]()
The hat is really pretty, @CatwithSevenToes.
I’ve started another Musselburgh, this time for my DH. It was supposed to be for Christmas, but it’ll have to be a late birthday gift (week after Christmas). But, I can work on it while the kids’ sweaters are drying.
I had to look it up. Wow, yours is going to be gorgeous!
That one is going to be super cool!
