OMG, they are amazing.
Thank you. The yarn is West Yorkshire Spinners Exquisite 4ply, Falkland and Mulberry silk blend. A bit spendy for an off the shelf yarn, but worth every penny. So squashy and cosy.
Oooh! I likey!
A multicolored ray.
and a multicolored Swiffer duster pad.
Whatever this bad fetling is, it’s actually helping me concentrate on a few more things than usual. But only sort’a…It’s rather weird, .
Ok! I’m going to stop here, and use this for part of the video…Which I am…I AM going to finish…and…and I am going to do a good job. ( Welp, I just jinxed it, ).
Update: Well…I got it done…it’s definitely not great, but I think I can salvage it…
That’s almost too pretty to use
Yeah! Heh! I’d definitely wear a sweater that looked like this. .
After fighting with the file transfers, I finally got the video moved to my computer…Now…Do I feel like staring at my moniter like my five year old self staring at the Flintstones early Saturday morning in 79? Oof! This is going to be boooooooooooorrrrrrrrring.
You can do it!
Done! Here it is with the first one I made last year. Ruby wore it even though there was only one lol. Look at how stretched out it got!
She requested 2 different colors.
Aww that’s so sweet, she loved it so much to go one-legged. Also I love that she is so funky - two different colorways! A girl after my own heart. She’ll make it easier for you to stashbust too.
Yess!
With the colder weather she has been harassing me for the 2nd warmer. The first one is too stretched out to stay up, so I’m contemplating another pair for her in a smaller size/different yarn to avoid that. Not sure how successful it will be. We’ll see.
You could also do icords to weave into the top to tie them in place.
I made a simple crochet chain and sewed it through my husband’s droopy leg warmers…yes, he wears them over and under his pants because his calves get cold. He wants a new pair but they are not my favorite to make, especially since he wants only black ones!
@Abbeeroad I love that your daughter embraces a funky style…she must be a very self-assured and confident girl to wear what pleases her…so awesome!!
She put them on when she got home from school. They don’t stay up but she said “it’s fine.” I tried stringing just a piece of yarn through the multicolored one but it still falls. I’ll try some icord in the hopes that it’s a bit sturdier. I’m also looking at other patterns that claim to stay up.
Cute! I feel like an elastic thread woven through the tops would work perfectly. Finish with a button to hide the knot & quickly identify the tops too!
They make thin elastic used for sock making that can be woven or knit in as you go as well. Some sock yarns are not good at staying up!
I think she also grew a bit since I started these a year ago. I think a longer warmer might help.
Waiting for some yarn and new needles to make a Hoodola, but in the meantime, I found this lovely DK wool in my stash so I decided to do a practice run. So glad I did…this is a bit tricky at first but she has a great video tutorial on the Judy’s Magic cast on.
I cast on a chunky sweater vest on Friday and made a lot of progress at the girls’ cheerleading competition today. This is the back:
I have to add in my 2nd skein soon!
Love the color choice!
