Well it’s done and blocked but I’m not really a fan. It’s not quite as “oversized” and “boxy” as I was expecting. I can’t see myself wearing it, but don’t really want to frog it. I guess I’ll just look at it for a while longer.

Would making it a bit longer help? maybe take off the pockets? Add some sleeves?
Also, there’s nothing wrong with frogging it and using the yarn for something else. Been there, done that!

I actually chose this pattern for all the features you just mentioned. I liked it short, no sleeves, and I liked the pocket detail. At least it was a free pattern and I picked up some new skills. I don’t think I love the yarn which is part of the issue. I’m just over it lol. On to the next…

I am knitting another sweater. Short sleeve, lace yoke. It’s the same pattern as the last sweater I made except I am pretty sure I have enough yarn to make it full length instead of cropped. The yarn is cotton/ hemp/ modal (Hempathy). The yarn isn’t super soft for knitting with but I think it’ll soften up later. Oh, I am also making the next size down this time because I think it’ll fit better. We’ll see…

I signed up for a sweater making class at a LYS. It starts next Tuesday. I feel like I will need all the support and encouragement and confidence, lol. @sheepBlue suggested starting a sweater-along. Would folks be interested if I started a thread?

I have been knitting for 20 years and I absolutely love encouraging others through their projects. I don’t knit as much as I used to for a variety of reasons but these sweaters have been a great way to do something other than read the news obsessively over the last year. The outcome is also much cuter…

I want to make some neon leg warmers! Mine will probably be for putting over my leggings.
If she likes it bunched, you could make them extra long so when they bunch, they’ll still reach her knees.
