Winter Book Swap 2020 Gallery

oh, I had a brainstorm for a future swap!

@kittykill, wouldn’t it be fun if everyone held their pkg until all were rec’d,
then open during a zoom meetup?

I enjoyed it so much when @AIMR opened my swap package ‘in front of me’ on zoom

Intensity was the novel I had to read 3 times before I could finish it! I’ll have to look up the Christopher Snow novels, next!

Oh yeah… Intensity is definitely intense!

I got my package from @Abbeeroad! And it’s awesome! I can’t wait to dive into these books!

And the awesome sparkly socks to satisfy my sock fetish! Cool bookmarks, an adorable elephant sticker, and hot chocolate pops! My hubs and I will enjoy these on one of our cuddle-up-in-bed-and-watch-a-movie nights! Thank you so much, Abby! This is a perfect package for me, and your book choices are definitely intriguing!

Those socks are absolutely perfect! Much better than “If you can read this, bring me a glass of wine” in my opinion  And, hot chocolate on a stick sounds delicious!

I’m excited to read them! I’m on the second book of a trilogy right now and as soon as I’m done with that, I’ll be finding out what Dammed Things that book is talking about! :star_struck:

What’s this? Yes, it’s an Awesome Winter Book Swap Package!!!

Check out what @grenouille78 gave me!
This is German milk chocolate. My husband is from Germany and the whole family is thankful for this! If you look closely in the picture you may notice that one of the chocolates is just an empty wrapper because we has already torn into it and is soooo good! (So good that grammar is nothing in the face of German Chocolate!)

There is a book of Shakespeare sonnets. I studied Shakespeare at University during my semester abroad in London so this takes me right back to those days!

Those other books are cozy mysteries. I  Cozy mysteries. I’m going to crack open the Sugar Cookie Murder and Gingerbread Muder mysteries straight away because they’re seasonal. :cookie:

Finally the bookmarks. Grenouille noticed in a thread that I mentioned that I could always use bookmarks and she pulled through! And they are crocheted! I tried, and failed, to learn how to crochet so I’m so impressed by that particular skill. Plus one has a bumblebee! I :honeybee:’s. Another says FONDUIE!!!

Everything is so spot-on and thoughtful. Thank you so much!!!

Yay!! I’m glad the Milka was a hit. You guys went for the kuhflecken, I see (that’s a fun word).

I hope the books provide many hours of cozy winter reading.

Love Milka chocolate  And that little bumblebee is adorable!

I always love this swap, but always find lots of new books to add to the list

Here is my package from @kayrun! My son helped me open it and luckily I snapped a picture of the chocolate box before we devoured it. I was probably supposed to savor it with a good book… but… kids and chocolate. He wanted to taste-test each one. I liked the one with the brownie-like interior.

I received two books! One is Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife by Mary Roach, who has written some excellent books such as Gulp, Bonk, Grunt, etc. I haven’t read this one yet and I’m super excited to get into it! Also cool about it is that the center of the mirrors for the O’s in Spook are reflective. How fun!
The other book is a graphic novel called Nimona by Noelle Stevenson. This is also on my Goodreads Want to Read list! How did you know, kayrun?

There are three bookmarks as well! There is a beautiful seafoam green delicate bookmark. It looks like lace, seriously. There is also a corner paper bookmark with felt accents. Very kawaii. Lastly, there is a see-through sequin-and-tissue paper shakey bookmark with a lace top with hearts. I enjoyed shaking it all around. These three will be great for my books!

Thank you, kayrun, for making this swap excellent.
And thank you, kittykill, for running another year of this swap. I’m ready for Rnd 3!

wow, that was a stroke of luck about the Nimona book!
I meant to stalk your goodreads, but spent more time on your Pinterest boards
and somehow missed getting to goodreads :stuck_out_tongue:
Really glad that worked out so well!
and
whew, I’m happy that the chocolates were to your (and your son’s) liking – I just chose a random assortment in hopes they would work! And it goes without saying that I got some for myself as well, LOL
That was my first time using a fabric stiffener on your green bookmark, and I think it came out pretty well. Also never used a Fuse tool before, so I’ll have to have more adventures with that down the road.
A fun swap, for sure!
Thanks @kittykill for organizing~

SQUEEEE my package from @WiccadWitch arrived today! That was so fast!

I’m going to try to open and post tonight but I’m scrambling to pack for a business trip, so I may end up leaving it perfectly wrapped until I get back on Tuesday. That may also give the card she forgot to add time to catch up in case there’s anything important I need to know! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::see_no_evil:
