2024 DeStash Along

Clutter stresses me out so I totally understand. One thing I’ve realized over the last few years is that I need to take care of myself first before I can help others. Family obligations can be hard but remember you need to take care of yourself first! Assuming they’re capable adults, they’ll adjust/figure it out. Sending you luck and hugs!

They are getting older, and I go over 5 days a week to help out. I spent all last week on the phone redoing their cable plan because it got messed up, so now all the other stuff they wanted me to do is piling up. Getting a weekend to myself is nearly impossible, but I planned this and it WILL happen. I need this to happen!

Blue: Yes!
Tone-on-tone: Nope.
C1: Definitely not.
C2: All Q1 projects from stash, but most was from others’ stash that they gifted to me in the 1st quarter.

Blue hats for April color challenge. These go into the donation stack. Still trying to finish up.

Those hats look cozy!

It’s become a thing…I just knit gift bags when I’m at loose ends. Used up two more small balls of worsted.

The pattern done in gray is neat because it’s designed based on the fence in front of Buckingham palace.

Color: Green
Pattern: Leafy
For: Yourself
Challenge 1: Make something using a supply given to you from a family member’s stash or using a technique they taught you.
Challenge 2: Throw something away. Sometimes a supply goes bad or gets damaged. There’s no use keeping it around and letting it make you sad.

It wasn’t a strong smell, just my first impression as I opened the envelope!

My mum had Covid 4 years ago and she’s only properly started to get her smell back since last summer. Before that, she would sometimes recognize strong smells but she’d smell the thing, like rotting vegetables instead of coffee. Hope your sense of smell wil recover as well!

Thanks, the yarn is acrylic, so not the coziest. Potential wool allergies notwithstanding, the recipients of my hats need easy care and cleaning. Hopefully once washed, they will soften up a bit.

Your bags are super cute. I need to think about adding something like that to my repertoire.

Good luck with your reorganisation!! I hope it goes really smoothly, you deserve to have a relaxing creative space

Challenge 1 is perfect for me! My grandma just gave me a bunch of her yarn. Still trying to decide what to make her - maybe a bouquet of crocheted flowers?

This is the skirt I made from stash in April -

For the April challenges, I think it counts as both ‘tone on tone’ pattern and ‘just for fun’. The fabric is a nice remnant I’ve had for a while, and the pattern is from a Burda magazine (at least 10 years old). I really like Burda patterns, although they can be a bit more work. I’m pleased with it, it’s really comfy to wear.

Made a purse all from stash for myself (for now anyway haha):

From handles to bag bottom it is all stash with years of living in my hoard.

In April, I made a blue sheep just for fun completely from stash!

& I made some ATCs using a little bit of paper:
