Post your new treasures here! I can’t wait to see the stitched goodness!
I received today from the very speedy @Abbeeroad!
A @geekgirl card to start
And the painted, stitched, beaded, tufted hoopla in all its glory!
Note the extra decor on the frame (woodburned?) and the nicely finished back
Time to put another nail in the wall so I can display it properly- thank you!
Yay!!
Yes, the edge of the hoop is woodburned - it was a last minute add!
Oooh! So pretty. I just want to run my hands all over it! @Abbeeroad did you use crayon on the fabric? It looks really cool. I like the effect.
I am 80% done and then took a break to deal with more pressing matters. I need to get back to it so I can attack a particular unfinished project that is giving me guilt.
It’s paint rolled on with a brayer!
Love it!
that is great - nicely done.
I recd a wonderful hoopla from mighty mitochondria
A colorful sampler! I love it. I am very new to embroidery so this may need to be placed somewhere in my craft room for quick reference.
Thank you fur swapping with me!
Oh and i almost forgot…. She also sent along the cutest lip balm holder she just whipped up! Perfect for my key ring.
Beautiful color and texture!!
@Abbeeroad What a masterpiece to start off the gallery! I LOVE the lines and groupings in yours. It just makes all of it pop!
@MightyMitochondria The bright colors on the dark background are swoon-worthy! The different techniques are all so wonderful too. I just LOVE this hoop!
Thanks! It was a twist on conventional stitch samplers. I forgot to take a final photo, but here are in-progress shots.
I used washi tape to make a grid because its skinny. It didn’t stick well, so I i ended up stitching it down.
The variegated purple square are all French knots, the chunky yellow is a buillion stitch, the lumpy green is a string of pom poms stitched down with metallic turquoise thread, the green parallel lines are zippers, and the dimension of the pink and red parallel lines are from bits of twine. Some of the others are made up of bits of fabric or ribbon, and the rest of various stitches. It was my first time doing many of these techniques. It was a fun learning exercise.
Also, I really love vintage metal embroidery hoops and only use them for people like @curiousfae who will appreciate the old and the unusual. Thanks for swapping with me!
What a clever way to do a sampler! It is delightful and so colorful.
Using the metal hoop was an extra special touch. I have a few and feel the same way…but, yes, you picked the right person who does appreciate this detail!
I received the loveliest hoopla from @curiousfae today! I am amazed with her concise stitches. I always make satin stitches look like a hot mess, but hers are so perfect. The design reminds me of cells under a microscope, so it shall live in my biology classroom. She tied a lovely ribbon on the hoop. It got wrinked in transit. I will put it back after ironing it.
She also sent me this GORGEOUS Van Gogh postcard.
Thank you so much, curiousfae.
Ah!! This is SO COOL!!
I recieved my beautiful abstract hoop from @Kwality570
I really love the colors and the pop of silver. It’s absolutely perfect

Oooo! I looove those woven bits!!
All that texture!
mitochondria what a cool idea - turned out very cool. really a nice way to showcase stiches
curiousfae - so unique and more to look at each time. complex without seeming to be at first glance
Kwality570 - so much texture and color not to mention movement. love the mixture of texture and colors.
I received this gorgeous hoop from @jeanneleigh today!
My 16-year-old even complimented it when I opened it. It’s so full of luscious texture.
Some close ups of my favorite bits:
My daughter said it reminded her of Emerald City. Thank you so much @jeanneleigh - I love it!!
What a lovely piece!!! The greens are lush and each stitch so unique.
