Get ready to stitch, paint, and embellish! The Abstract Embroidery Craft Swap invites you to explore texture, color, and freeform expression using an embroidery hoop as your canvas. Whether you’re an experienced embroiderer or simply love to create with your hands, this swap is a chance to try new techniques, share your work, and receive a unique piece from another creative maker.
Create an abstract embroidery piece using a 6" to 8" hoop. Beyond that, the sky’s the limit. Your design can incorporate any materials that inspire you like acrylic paint, embroidery floss, fabric, buttons, beads, sequins, tulle, or other mixed-media elements. This is all about experimentation and personal style, with no need for patterns or representational imagery.
Guidelines
- Use a hoop between 6 and 8 inches in diameter
- Incorporate any combination of materials you choose
- Your design does not need to cover the entire hoop. Leaving open space is absolutely acceptable for aesthetic reasons, but as a general rule, let’s try to decorate at least 3/4 of the hoop.
