Project Name: Orphan Block Pouches

Brief Description: These are pouches made from quilt blocks that weren’t used in making a quilt. They are leftovers that are just too nice not to use!
Project Photos:
And, this is going to be one of my big projects. I am turning a quilt that was never finished and made probably in the 1940’s into tote bags for my girlfriend and her sisters. The quilt was started by their mother using clothing and scraps.
Prompt: Zap
Team: So Corn-fused
Project Name: Sweet Kitty?
Project Link: Sweet Kitty
Brief Description: This was a very simple pattern that sewed up quickly. I used doll eyes instead of embroidery so it was even faster to make. I also adjusted the pattern so that next time it will look more like a cat and not like a small dog.
Project Photo:
I love the idea of repurposing the quilt. How in the world is that cat a zap?! That’s mind blowing
I love it!
Thanks! The cat is really only two pattern pieces. The ears and tail are sewn on by hand afterwards. I have way too many other projects that take a lot longer, so I used the zap since it was closest to how long it took. I mean, from start to finish in one go, but of course, we don’t really craft like that, do we… ![]()
Cut out pattern and fabric…get a drink
Pin pieces and sew…go to bathroom
Stuff pieces…eat lunch
Sew ears and tail…take a nap
Make collar and sew on charm…watch tv
So, yeah, maybe 30 minutes in total but it took most of the day! ![]()
I’ve only tried two projects like that. One worked but took me several hours to do. The other was a fail. I know speed comes with time (I’m a fast crocheter), but my mind can’t wrap around how quickly you finished that! I’m in awe of your skills ![]()

Project Name: Scarecrow jacket
Project Link: Scarecrow Jacket
Brief Description: This is for my son for Christmas. He bought a hoodie with a similar image on it, but it was really poorly made, with subpar materials. To say he was disappointed would be an understatement. I did my best to reimagine it on this denim jacket.

It looks great!
Thank you!
That looks so cool! Awesome effect. And the denim is such a great textile/canvass for it!
Thanks!!
