I received a lovely card from @megwell! Thank you, Megan!
Good grief! I’ve been following & commenting on this thread & finally am sitting down to send some postcards (the railroad ones that @Cindy shared with me awhile back) and I just realized I FORGOT to post my intro here!
Rectifying that now w/ a lil copy & paste from last year ![]()
My bday is Mar 19 == so many March happy mailers here!
I am Karen G & this thread makes me happy ![]()
I’m especially fond of spring (except for that dratted Daylight Savings Time…ugh)
My birthday is in March, and I celebrate Christmas & Easter.
I have 2 grown daughters, and a darling toddler granddaughter. I fly cross-country to see her as often as I can, so that is why I’m “out of pocket” many times for swaps lately.
UPDATE: We now have 2 toddlers in the family! Toddler (girl) E is sometimes a whirlwind, but also very kind and smart. Baby brother C just had his second birthday! Also, they moved back to the southeast, so I am able to visit much more often ![]()
AND even more of an update – awaiting the arrival of little one #3 this spring! Wow~ life is full, fun, & a bit exhausting at times
I enjoy knitting & am trying to get the hang of crochet, but it doesn’t compute all that well for me. I’ve always admired you gals who can paint, embroider, and make cool papercrafts! I try to join in on the papercraft/ mixed media zoom calls from time to time.
Cards I send will likely be storebought, but I’ll try to remember to at least include some stickers inside!
I’m hoping to get some time to try watercolor on cards or maybe ATC’s.
Need to add that to the master to-do list (also get back to my “doodling” notebook that I started when either @Smmarrt or @Abbeeroad shared the link to the Doodle class a few years ago)
@AIMR , I see you mentioned some online classes you bought & I am in the same boat! I have at least one that I bought a year ago and NEVER tried!
I hope I can at least figure out the login
Maybe that will be this week’s task!
Happy mailing, all!
P.S. I have a big wire basket full of happy mail from this site as well as from some Ravelry friends, and I spent some time today going back through all of the cards & postcards, going down memory lane. What a pleasure it was!
And I made sure to make a special stack of those I rec’d from bluebird (RIP). Such great memories of a fantastic crafter/creator and all-around lovely human. ![]()
Welcome ![]()
I’ve added you to the swappers list and your birthday to the March list ![]()
March birthday gal here as well!
Congrats on new additions to your family!
My oldest great niece is seeing someone and it seems quite serious, so there might be a future great nephew-in-law in the family (is that such a thing?).
I haven’t sent out mail either, and I know it is because I am trying to make it harder than it is. I have so many ideas for cards but something distracts me each time so, I just need to set aside a weekend day to make a mess!
Happy March!
Last weekend I received some wonderful happy mail from @Nightlight
A wonderful card and the most amazing oil pastel drawing. Thank you so much I love it. I also love the fact that you have round postage stamps.
Now that all my mail resurfaced from the depths of the US postal system I’m up to send happy mail again.
Yay! So happy you liked your happy mail! I was excited to see the round international postage stamps too, I didn’t know they were a thing.
there should be! if not, just shorten it to “great nephew” and that’s that!
new babies are amazing & such tiny miracles!
I spent some time a few weeks ago doodling a little border on the postcards, so now to address them & write a quick message!
I just remembered something – was it someone on this thread (years ago)?
saying that they would be happy with ANY kind of mail, so someone stapled together some junk mail & wrote a happy message on it and both parties were happy & laughed about it ![]()
Thank you, @megwell for a much needed paper hug! Recovery has been challenging but steadily improving! This brightened my day…the envelope is also very lovely!
Look at this gorgeous card @Nightlight sent to me for my birthday! I love bugs and the use of stickers along with the beetle is a clever use of stickers that I hadn’t thought of in my own card making…just gorgeous! Thanks so much for the happy boost!
So glad that you liked your card! It was fun:)
I received a lovely birthday postcard from @wittychild ![]()
Thank you ![]()
You’re welcome! I’m glad it made it on time.
Sending belated Happy Birthday wishes to @AIMR
Also, I received a cute post card from @kayrun thanks ![]()
Alrighty folks. I have FOUR envelopes I put together from bits and bobs from when I had an “Extravagant Hope” subscription. Here is the link to Brandi Kincaid’s shop so you can see what kind of stuff she has. It’s colorful, cute, and full of hope.
Here are sneak peek pictures of the kind of stuff I have:
If you’re interested in an envelope of a random assortment of these goodies, let me know! It will be stuffed full of happiness and there are lots of great pieces you can pass along in your happy mail journeys.
P.s. I will ship/send for free in U.S.!
Ooh, if any of these are still available, I’m interested. Though I acknowledge that I’m a sporadic happy mailer at best, so if you want to prioritize more-regular senders, I totally respect that.
There is some cute stuff going on there!!
I’m VERY sporadic too so no worries. I probably have your address somewhere but go ahead and message it to me again
Thank you for the birthday postcard!
I’m scatterbrained preparing for an international flight so I hope I pinged the right person!
Anyway, I’m grateful for any & all happy mail!
Thank you @Whistlefish for the lovely birthday card ![]()
Thank you, @wittychild , for a cute postcard!
