Happy Mail Craftalong 2026 - Round 6!

Welcome to the Happy Mail Craftalong 2026! This is Round Six!

Photo and card by @LindyBlues

Happy Mail is any mail sent/received with the sole purpose of making someone happy  While we encourage handcrafted happy mail, you may send anything you think will give someone a smile. Some crafty happy mail might be a handmade postcard, decorated envelope, handmade card or stationery, small crafted gift, etc.

There are no “rules” here! All participants are encouraged to share what you’re crafting/sending. Recipients are encouraged to say “thank you” but are not required to and there is no pressure to share pictures or send Happy Mail in return. It’s up to each person to play however makes them happiest :love_letter: Message each other to request addresses and feel free to chat away in the craftalong thread!

Each month we will have a theme to inspire us and I’ll keep track of Birthdays also (in the next post of this thread). Please note that the theme is just for fun if you want to try, but if you’re not feeling inspired or you want to do your own thing that’s A-Okay too!

When you first join the craftalong, please consider sharing something about yourself and the kind of happy mail you enjoy sending/receiving :kissing_heart: I’ll try to keep the Happy Mailers & Birthday lists current. Please message me if I need to change anything  If you joined last year, feel free to copy and paste your intro from that thread—that’s what I’m doing

Some fine print (bolded for your attention): We are all friends here! If you ever feel that you are not receiving your “fair share” of happy mail you might be in the wrong place  All happy mail is given freely without the expectation of mail being sent in return. Ask each other for addresses, feel free to say “no”, and you share them at your own risk. This is not a swap! Lettuce Craft and myself take no responsibility if someone fails to send or delays sending anything. There are no “points” or swap credit, this is all just for fun

Looking forward to exchanging happy mail with you!

Hello everyone!

I’m Mariana, known almost everywhere online as LindyBlues, a nod to the dances I do (Lindy Hop & Blues).

My birthday is March 11th.

I absolutely love “snail mail,” and grew up as an immigrant before the age of “everyone has a computer/Internet at home”, so I used to write letters to my family regularly. I love “real mail,” walking over to my mailbox and finding nice surprises there. I also love sending a little something to cheer up someone’s day.

Here’s a little about me:

I was born and raised in Brazil, lived in the US for 4 years (near Chicago), then immigrated to Canada with my family in 2000.

I’m fluent in English and Brazilian Portuguese, and I can get by in Spanish. I’d love to learn French, Polish, Italian, and ASL eventually.

I’m an “all over the place” crafter/amateur artist and I love to dabble in just about anything, though more and more, I find myself drawn to mixed media, especially featuring collage. Because mixed media lets me do all the things instead of picking just one, which is a generic theme in my life—wanting to do all the things, lol. I’ve also really gotten into bookbinding this past year, and hope to bind many more books/journals, etc. in my lifetime.

Professionally, I’ve done a lot of things, from retail to teaching to serving in the Canadian Naval Reserves to kinesiology, personal training, community health, library programming, to a lot of things in between. Currently, I am homeschooling my son (my 2 girls are now in the school system), and I do some writing on the side, though I’m not officially freelancing anymore.

I absolutely LOVE libraries. It’s a bit of an obsession, really. I also love sunflowers, the beach/ocean, and summertime :books: :ocean: :sun:

I have been happily married since 2006 (we started dating in 2001), and we have 3 children born in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

I look forward to exchanging mail with many of you!

Some important but less interesting stuff about me:

I’m severely sensitive to scents/fragrances and they can trigger my asthma and my chronic post nasal drip/allergic rhinitis, so no smelly stuff please. If you send anything fabric, please do not wash it in scented soap first… I’ve had some issues with this in the past :frowning:

I have Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and I am prone to dislocations/subluxations (partial dislocations), so I wear a great deal of bracing to prevent injury. I also have a list of other chronic illnesses, and I deal with chronic pain. So sometimes I need recovery time from pushing myself too hard, which, after all these years, I’m still trying to learn not to do… I still want to be invited to all the things though, even if I have to say no more times than I care to…

Hello. Many of you know me over the years as I have been a member and moderator at the dead space under the name Alwaysinmyroom. When we moved to LC, I shortened it to AIMR since that is what everyone did anyway! My name is Linda IRL.

My birthday is March 1. I have a lot of the characteristics of the zodiac sign I was born under, Pisces. I often feel duality in my life. Organized and chaotic. Modern and vintage. Colorful and monochromatic. Happy and Sad. I like to think that I am a mutt crafter. A little bit of everything!

Anyway, I enjoy getting mail and packages. I know during Covid years, I ordered so much stuff just to get mail. I am now rehoming or repurposing a lot of those things and trying to focus on doing and having things I love! For me, that means yarn (I knit and crochet), embroidery and sewing.

I also love to do mixed media and paint, but more and more, I don’t want to clean up the mess. However, I do like making notecards so maybe that is where I will keep my focus. I like sending out some small pieces of art and other fun things that I like to make but can’t possibly keep it all, so happy mail would be a good way to share.

I am also chatty online…maybe not as much in real life.

I have some notecards I will be making soon because one of my resolutions this year is to complete the many art courses I signed up for during my purchasing period. I also have a boat load of stamps because I love the ever changing designs! I save the ones on every envelope to repurpose into stickers or something for my journals.

Enough said. PM me your address if you are new or have moved. I have a special address book for the rest of you!

Lol… I have IRL friends and family who find me to be unnervingly quiet. I have always been able to find my voice online though.

Ohhh, that’s a great idea. I should make a little address book dedicated to LC friends! Adding it to my to-do list.

I’ve added everyone who has commented as a participant above, and added the birthdays that were mentioned. If for any reason you wish your name/birthday to be removed, please let me know
Lots of March birthdays!

I’m in this year, too.

My name is Silke, Silky on the internet, because that’s how everyone pronounced it when I lived in the US.
I live in Germany a bit south of Hamburg.

I love sending and receiving snail mail and had pen pals from all over the world when I was a kid.

I’m doing all kinds of crafts and like trying new things if I have the time.

I have 3 kids and I recently met the love of my life, who has 2 kids on his own. So we try to make all of this work, which kind of reduces my crafting to things that don’t take very long or can be easily stowed away.

PM me for my address.

My birthday is December 2.

I’m afraid to start typing a whole introduction and aggravating my severely sprained wrist…

But, I love mail, my birthday is December 24th, and if you don’t have one of my addresses, just ask. I’ll be updating my address at some point this year. I, too, have an LC address book…

Did you have one last year? just link it or copy it? We don’t want you to aggravate your poor wrist! Is it getting any better?

Good idea! And, no. Getting worse, but I meet the hand surgeon next week…

Thank you!

I got the cutest postcard from @thanate! You need to do a post on it! The drawings of your crafting year 2025 are fabulous! Thanks!

If you don’t, then I am going to post a picture of it here!

It’s just my year-end mailing, not official happy mail. :green_heart: (but yes, I should do a post, and then posts for all the things I listed…)

Hey Everyone, I am happy to be back in the community with all of you and on the Happy Mail group.

I am Mel, and most of my days are spent supporting families after giving birth or advocating for better Maternal Healthcare in the US and globally.

I am a parent to three kids, one son and two daughters, all are adults. My son has three sons so I am also a GG. If I am not working, I am watching trials on youtube, sports (Mets, Red Sox, Bills, Knicks, NY Rangers, Tarheels, Clemson, LSU, and Michigan), play Dreamlight Valley (a disney sims game) I am a Disney Adult, it my goal to go to DL Tokyo next year and for my 50th birthday in 2028 to DL Paris. I am an avid reader as well, and crochet and general crafting keeps me busy as well.

My bday is listed, my favorite color is all shades of blues and dark purple

If you need my addy please DM me

I think that is enough about me for now (as an introvert this intro part is always hard lol)

Hiiii!

I haven’t posted on here in a while. However, I’ve made it a goal to send more correspondence this year. Which brings me to two things:

  1. Would anyone like a valentine? I bought cute valentine postcards and would love to send some out! (International is fine too.)
  2. Does anyone want to exchange on a semi-regular basis? Short mail is fine, but I’d love to write some medium-long letters. Also, most of mine is probably going to be store bought stationary and whatnot because I don’t currently have time or the desire to hand make cards lol. (It may happen from time to time though!) If you’re interested, PM me your address!

That is all. Have a fantastic Monday. :yellow_heart:
