She said this is a technique of putting salt on watercolors. I’ve never seen this before. It makes it look kinda like a Kona ice she said. Pretty cool.

So, I actually sprinkled salt on glue, then lightly painted with watercolor. Watching the watercolor fill the salted glue was like watching shaved ice become colored. We have Kona Ice popular here. I then covered with dimension glue, but it startee cracking from the weight. I went with it for the crackle effect, and added modge podge. Lots of different techniques!

I read about it online. I had never heard of it before, either, and like I always do – I was looking for things my students would enjoy. I can see this being great for fine motor with the littles.

I buy mine from Amazon…just type in “binder pages”…they even have them just for ATCs…

Fun fact: I clipped that quote from something (can’t remember what) back in high school and have had it ever since. Could never find an appropriate place to put it, lol. I graduated high school in… 2000. That quote survived at least 5 moves, lol.
