Sloth Plant Hanger (with pattern!)

Feeling lazy? Me too, but at least we’re in good company!
This pattern will fit a 3 " potted plant

Skill level: adventurous beginner (must be comfy crocheting in the round and using stitch markers and sewing fussy pieces together)

Materials:

I (5.5mm/size9) crochet hook

Stitch markers (I use bobby pins)

Small amount of Poly-fill stuffing

½” dowel rod (cut to your preferred length)

Scrap black yarn

Scrap white yarn

Scrap dark brown yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Café Latte)
1 or 2 skeins light brown yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Buff) *Note: You will be crocheting the body, arms, and head with 2 strands of yarn held together, I used 1 skein and pulled the yarn from the center and the outside and had no problem keeping it untangled, or if you want to be fuss free use 2 skeins

Body:

Using I hook, light brown yarn, and 2 strands held together

Round 1: Magic Ring with 6 single crochets (sc) (6 sts), place stitch marker (sm) in first stitch (move stitch marker up each round and place in the first stich)

Round 4: 2sc in first st, 1 sc in next 2 stitches, repeat around (24 sts)

Round 5: 2sc in first st, 1 sc in next 3 stitches, repeat around (30 sts)

Attach other end of white tails to another arm and tying a knot. Hide tails. Twist the arms so the fingers twist or leave them parallel (see pic)

Just stopping by to say how much I still ADORE these. baby.sweets4ever is in Costa Rica right now and hoping to see some sloths on his hikes. Reminded me of your adorable pattern.

Did you use the same size hook for the face and eyes? Also, for the head in row 6 is it suppose to be 1 sc2tog and then 1 single crochet in the next two stitches to get to 18 ?
