Looking through my stash, I came across this faux cast iron bench I made from hot glue for my Zorro scene. It was too big for Z’s courtyard, and now it’s looking mighty witchy.
The bench was made from pieces of my first attempt at a chandelier, I added the second chandelier… just because.
I made everything in the scene except the skeleton. You can’t beat a dollar store skelly!
And I usually avoid using hot glue, but decided to celebrate it here; it holds all the pieces on, AND forms a bunch of cobwebs, hotglue’s favorite shape.
The book title is “SLIM: Weight Loss Magic”

@steiconi I love this! Hot glue is seriously the worst for everything except purposeful spiderwebs. The little book seriously cracked me up.
Was your original chandelier attempt going to become an actual chandelier at one point?

That was my intention, but I wound up making one from wire and lace.
Hot glue versions
I’m working on a miniature scene set in the mission days of California – featuring Zorro.
I’ve been looking for a not so fiddly way to make wrought iron. The other day, I was using the hot glue gun, and a lightbulb went off (grain of rice LED, of course).

It consists of six pieces drawn in hot glue on parchment paper, allowed to set, then assembled using…hot glue. I got better control with the glue gun set to low heat–less glue, sets faster equals …
Final version
I thought the hot glue chandelier was too modern and too feminine. I made four others, with slightly differing designs, but wasn’t happy.
So this one was born…

1:12 scale, about 4" high, it’s made of a mix of materials. There’s cotton lace, copper chain, bright aluminum wire, jewelry findings, glass beads, and paper clay for the candles.
Pix along the way:
the base; lace hand stitched with gross black thread and stiffened with glue, wires and beads and chain

Aha! Hot glue is better for cast iron than for wrought iron. It’s all a learning experience.
This is another piece for my Spanish mission style mini box. Bench is 3.5" wide, 1 :12 scale, and has skewer reinforcement.
And here’s my first try in the background
I used leftover bits from rejected chandeliers from this project Mini hot glue wrought iron chandelier . I love it, but it’s too big for my space. 5.5" long, 1 :12 scale.

They are both so unique! I never would have thought to make hot glue shapes on a pattern.

Creative and spooky uses of Hot Glue…should be a title of a YouTube tutorial! I love the scene and all the details. Creepy time!

^ What all of them said! Also, note how alive and well-fed that cat is…Methinks cat had a role in the demise of this skeleton, or at least helped get the meat off the bones.

There’s a mouse under the couch, too, in case kitty wants a snack.
