I, AIMR, submit my ontime July 2026 QBOM. It is also one of my goals for this quarter to complete all the QBOM, even the ones I missed! I wanted to get this posted before I went to bed, so I will get a better picture tomorrow.

-I MistressJennie, submit Make at least 3 Star Blocks from Arthurian fabric for my goal list entry. I’ve actually made 5, and have 5 more prepped, but this fulfilled my goal of making at least 3. I’m hoping to use the finished blocks to motivate me to keep going on the project.
-I MistressJennie, submit Finish the in-progress Tula Pink potholders for my goal list entry. Yay for a WIP out of the studio! I actually cleaned my craft room a LOT over the last week, bit by bit, and it feels great to have room to think and plan again.
And last, but not least, I’ve made progress on the the wonky raw-edge applique tote bag. I have the panels all quilted and assembled, with canvas handles. Doing the straight line quilting for the bottom panels took ages. I really should have just done some meandering to get done in 30 minutes. Oh well. I got the lining panels cut last night. Hoping to make some pockets for the inside, and assemble it all today.

That tote bag is going to be so pretty! I do love the straight line quilting on totes. Yes, time consuming but it just looks so polished!

I loved that our Challenge for this quarter pushed me to use some of my solar dyed fabrics, but I also felt like it might be cheating, since I made those fabrics back in 2023. So I cut them up, and did some raw edge applique to create focus fabric for this tote bag.

I have an old friend from high school, who I don’t talk to very often, but is one of the few people I keep in touch with (or think well of at all) from that time. He messaged me back on Mother’s Day, because he knows what we went through to have Ada. I replied with a few pictures, and he sent me back pictures of his new daughter, born this past September. I didn’t know he & his wife had a little one, so it was quite the surprise! So I’ve been wanting to make a quilt for her, but since she’s nearly a year old, I want something beyond the typical baby quilt.
I decided to look through stash for inspiration today, and came upon a Charm Pack of Tula Pink coordinates of small polka dots and stripes. That made me flip through the book Just One Charm Pack, where I came upon this design, called Circus Stars.
I had some black & white stripe in my stash already, so I picked up some white as background today. I can do the quilt with the Charm Pack fabrics alone, but I think I’m going to add a few fussy-cut Tula prints as a couple of the star centers, just for fun. A few birds, butterflies, and maybe Alice’s face.

I haven’t quilted in what feels like forever and I am kind of itching to get back to the machine now that my husband is going to the office a few days a week (my machines share a room with his WFH desk making them unusable most of the time). I was thinking the BOM would be a good place to start. Do the blocks usually finish to the same size? I need to go back and read the beginning posts to see how the quiltalong works.
Edited to add - has an August block been posted yet? I haven’t been able to find it.

I don’t think we have a block for August yet. You are welcome to nominate one. This year we are trying to go for Star blocks.
Mostly we have blocks that measure 12” finished (12.5” unfinished). But occasionally someone nominates one that is a different size.

Thank you for the reminder. I have not yet posted the August block. I will do my best to get to that soon. It will be the Illinois Star Block that MistressJennie previously nominated. We are still in need of star blocks to finish out the year, so please feel free to suggest any that interest you!

I, EclecticDreamer, finally! Finished my Make SVQG name badge. It is one of my 3rd quarter goals. I’m also using it as a small personal make.
The pen is covering my real name which is part of why it wasn’t finished last quarter. Instructions say to embroider your name. Somebody in May told me “just use a pen!” so I finally went with it.
This is also (technically) a 3-yr UFO (I lost the first kit so had to get a new one in January)

Create your own fabric and use it in a project.
For this challenge you don’t have to literally create your own fabric (though you could), it’s more like create the pattern/design on the fabric. Ice dyeing, tie dyeing, cyanotyping, batiking, painting, inking, block printing…any way you choose to alter a preexisting fabric to make it your own will work for this challenge.
